I do accept the need for compromise and imperfection.

Hence my acceptance of a transitional socialist state on the way to full communism.

The real damage is done by those millions who want to 'survive.' The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don’t want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won’t take measure of their own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don’t like to make waves—or enemies. Those for whom freedom, honour, truth, and principles are only literature. Those who live small, mate small, die small. It’s the reductionist approach to life: if you keep it small, you’ll keep it under control. If you don’t make any noise, the bogeyman won’t find you. But it’s all an illusion, because they die too, those people who roll up their spirits into tiny little balls so as to be safe. Safe?! From what? Life is always on the edge of death; narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues, and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does. I choose my own way to burn.

Centrists love to use big words to hide the fact that they're cowards who won't stand up to power/dumb as shit

Compromise? What compromise have neoliberals made to the 'hard left' ever? They don't compromise with the hard left, they compromise with fascists.

Adulthood is paying more for worse health outcomes because you accept that the middleman must make his living by denying your insurance claims.

Similar for landlords and your boss.

Sure. A part of being an adult is compromise. Another part is recognizing that you have worth, and to reject the abusive pieces of shit that manipulate and accuse abuse you to their own ends.

Fuck you, Thomas, I'm a socialist, and you don't get to use me and my comrades to your own goddamn ends. Take your shame and shove it up your ass.

Maybe "childlike" isn't a bad thing. Before we're force-fed propaganda about how different we are from each other, conditioned toward greed and individualism, told how societal structures are "natural", maybe it's easier to see the obvious: we're all in this together and it'll be easier for all of us if we work together.

chastising people for being “childlike” when adulthood for most people has been an abusive, confusing nightmare of landlords and bosses and debt and meaningless work and governments who don’t give a fuck about them.

That's a taboo I think everyone should be actively shitting in. The more thoroughly the ruling class are embarrassed (edit: as Bichon Frise, yapping and impotent), the less effective they are.

Imagine being such a fucking fuck that you can never imagine anything ever getting better, never hope that people can make more of this world than just grinding away at the grist mill until they die.

I don't know that there's a bigger dunk on this guy than the fact that he uses his middle name in his profile, and that it's "Chatterton". I think the only way it could be more perfect was if he was a "the Third".
