"No pets allowed" is wrong. It is the year 2023. Pets are allowed but you need to have a pet resume and references for the pet.

You have to pay $50 each pet to register them in the leasing agency’s third party affiliate’s database in order to apply.

Pet needs to make 1/3 of rent as well. Better start monetizing that Instagram page.

you forgot one bullet point in the fine print:

    • the multi-material facade is made of highly flammable petrochemicals and is extremely prone to leaking

You just don't appreciate the hours of hard work that go into making a building as ugly and unsafe as possible!

Someone is affording them. But, I don't understand how people afford housing in general these days. It's simply mind boogaring.

the workers who can best afford them are the workers who are automating everyone else's jobs: so basically software developers

I know even some PMC types that make good money need room mates to make rent. Even among people I know who make good money, the only ones who can afford to live alone in their 20s or early 30s come from money.

Housings fucked. Rent is fucked. Was very seriously looking into stealth-van life and living in a self-storage unit but eventually just bit the bullet and accepted that 80% of my income this year will go on rent.

don't forget, if you oppose this you're 'anti-housing', whatever the hell that means.

They don't even remodel the houses here. It's the same weird old house, the rent just doubled for no real reason.

And it was built using the absolute cheapest materials while paying for the cheapest, least skilled workers possible to do it in a completely unsafe manner.

How is rent-seeking any different than being a so-called "welfare queen"? No improvements are made but rent goes up for no reason, you're quite literally giving someone 'free stuff' for no reason.

    grillman: "Buh...but....it's my property!"

And you use that property to leverage yourself into my wallet. So excuse me if I begin to respect your "property rights" a little less in return. I mean hey, in these uncertain times, We AlL hAvE tO mAkE sAcRiFiCeS fOr ThE eCoNoMy! I've done all the sacrificing so far, now it's your turn.
