Doug Jones was such a weak candidate. I have relatives in AL and have been through there recently in the past few months.
Tuberville is not even a real politician. He's a goddamn football coach, and that's ALL Jones attacked him with in ads. Jones was running ads that said "he's not a TRUE Alabamian, he only moved here 5 months ago" and talking about what a mediocre college coach he was. That was it. Tuberville ran ads saying Doug Jones wants to take your guns, supports abortions and calling him a BABY KILLER.
I like to remind people that the only reason Jones won back in 2017 is because Roy Moore was literally a pedophile. Jones just barely won after running a campaign that built him up as this civil rights politician and then went on to be the one Dem senator who voted with Trump over 77% of the time.
Jones is such a useless politician, he fits in well with Biden's cabinet. He spent more time siding with the GOP in Alabama politics than anything else, right down to the point that for his campaign this year all he could really do was attack Tuberville for being a football coach.
Just wondering how many Alabama fans voted for Doug Jones simply because Tuberville was an Auburn coach.
I'm in Alabama. Seeing this happen made me wonder how easily a communist could get elected in one of these shithole states that no one cares about just by registering as a republican and talking about all the shit average working class people agree with us on whether they're reactionary or not
