That sucks. It's always better to be the one taking the initiative.

Did you have any, uh, "leverage" left over at the company? Or is their main rude awakening just going to be loss of convenience and performance?

The only thing that sucks rn is my partner is spiraling from stress, they were on my health insurance. I'm squeezing in one last therapist visit today, and my partner is scrambling to get shit refilled.

COBRA is usually way too pricey for the average person

It literally exists so that they can say "We still provide healthcare access!"

              Weaselly shit

Yeah it's fucked. Even with multiple Rx's and two medical professionals I visit at least monthly, it was cheaper for me to just self pay until new insurance kicked in.

Seems like it's only helpful if you're incredibly unlucky and get sick / injured

I once celebrated quitting by getting so wasted I fell down walking downhill and broke a wrist. Still cheaper out-of-pocket than COBRA.

Yoooo that shit catalyzed quick in the past 24 hours! You probably are aware but if you need therapy and you're near a university with a psych program, they likely have a program that serves people in the community, and it's usually sliding scale. There may also be other sliding scale options around as well.

Also in my state, the insurance companies that run medicaid typically have programs that will help to pay for things that are health related so long as a doctor provides a referral. If yall need assistance paying for meds, that might be something to look into.

Sorry I can't help offer a ton of advice on this stuff, it's my job lol

Mmmmm, severance pay....you set then. Also it sounds like the perfect time to be laid off if you're touring, that's dope! What kinda music do you play?

Sounds right up my alley, that's awesome. Eyehategod is playing my town super soon and I feel too burnt to go but I haven't seen them in over a decade
