And before anyone says anything about mine, I think "Los Angeles" is a broad enough area to not really be considered personally identifying

Genuine question; what advantages does having a jb'd iPhone have over just an Android? Most of what makes iOS special is the tight integration between hardware and software rather than the hardware itself (at least that's how it used to be when I was a big phone nerd)

It’s great! None of the benefits of the iphone are lost; it’s still fast as fuck, i can still use airdrop and all that apple shit, but with most of the good features of android, too. You can customize almost every element, like what appears in the notification bar, how screenshots work, what app directions default too... it’s fantastic. Used to be an android guy, but iPhones are just... so smooth and good to use, and then jail breaking makes up any of the difference!

the tight integration between hardware and software

That tight integration is still mostly there. You're basically starting from a point of super tight integration and loosening it as you see fit.

I've appropriated the Halo ring as a Culture Orbital. Also basically of my app icons are actually drawers filled with related apps

My phone's homescreen is pretty lame so you also get one of my laptop. Phone doesn't have google play store though which is neat.

Also that weather widget is pretty sweet.

I tried to osm, but my biggest issue is looking up businesses. How do you do that?

Currently I search whatever I'm looking for in duckduckgo then click the maps button and it opens osm with the address filled it. Not a perfect setup lol, but it works well enough and that's something the osm team has been actively working on a lot recently.

In fact the store data, least where I live, is all there in osm and usually fairly accurate (easy to update when it's not). The geocoder (tool that converts names to cords and back) is the part that still needs some work until you can just open maps and search "starbucks" and find some crappy coffee or whatever. There used to be an app on fdroid that used the apple maps geocoder (not great but maybe better than google lol?) and it worked pretty well, but I think it got shut down or something.

Weather at the top is Weather Timeline. The main big one is a custom Zooper widget; I started with a premade one from a pack years ago and added/changed so much that basically all it still has in common is the general white text with drop shadow concept.

The Apollo widget is pulling pictures from /r/LinkIsCute. The apps are from the Suggestions widget so they change automatically. The blacked out app is just a 2FA app for my job.

The background was the default background when I got my original iPhone 4S. It survived the transition to my 7 and I haven't bothered changing it.
