She has literally never looked worse in her entire career as she has in the past 3-6 months with her open disregard of regular americans lives during the pandemic. Every day she does some psycho demented interview.

The leaders of the democratic party are making it clear they want people to suffer, but why?

The position of: "let the poor die in the streets" is popular among the class of petite Bourg and PMC psychos that she represents, and is trying to further pivot the Democratic Party towards.

But she's too old to know/care about how to properly dog-whistle the message, so it's all coming out unfiltered.

Some petty bourgies and PMCs literally want to eradicate homelessness by eradicating the homeless instead of housing them. Visible poverty in their cities is aesthetically gruesome and weighs on their conscience. I think this is the best take on the Dems' position in this thread, they're desperately trying to represent these ghouls.

Yep, something which I always argue to Liberals is that American homeless policy is not one of disregard, but one of active hostility.

If American cities just ignored Homelessness entirely, allowing the Homeless to build shantytown's on any available unused land, it would unironically lead to far better outcomes then the present policy of slicing tents, and policing people for sleeping in vans. It would clearly be deeply immoral to do so, the only justifiable solution is obviously one of housing first, but it's nevertheless vastly preferable to ignore the homeless than it is to eradicate the homeless.

The same issue also exists in Canada, where in Vancouver their suburbanites have spent years trying to destroy a homeless encampment in a downtown park, without a care for acknowledging the fact that evicting people from their tent homes (without decent guaranteed) will only further degrade their already wretched living conditions.

edit: I'm slightly out of date in my info; the encampment in Oppenheimer Park was removed after it's inhabitants were granted housing in hotels due to COVID, evidently the City always had the ability to get them housing.

Lol, she lives for this shit, she's a complete ghoul, this job lets her wrap herself in all this woke culture virtue signalling bullshit AND she gets to fuck over workers and poor people on a daily basis. She's 80 years old and a worth $200 million+ she could retire and just spend the rest of her days burning all that money on what ever she wants. But none of that will make her as happy as this does, she's a narcissist, she wants the power and attention. She's clearly demented, and can't even speak properly anymore but nothing matters as long as she gets to go to parties where people shower her with attention, and tell her she's awesome.

I have a bottomless well of contempt for legit psychopaths like this. They're not going to have to live through the consequences of their decisions yet they're still out there fucking it up for the rest of us.

THIS is why I sometimes think it'd be justice to kill their descendants and wipe their names from history, let their legacy reflect who they were in life: net negatives for the whole of humanity. That's more revenge than justice imho, but it's nice to fantasize. Also future generations need to know whose grave to spit on. All of this is, of course, in minecraft you Fed fucks out here.

Those decades of lady-boss-under-the-radar shit really tell me a lot about her now. She must feel entitled to the level of respect she had in the fucking 90's, and thinks she can brow beat the world into remembering her fondly.

She's fucking 604 years old. She's old and has no patience because that's what happens when you get old. So she can't handle any real question. She's old and can't hear/see well. Her face has been stretched back over her skull and she applies some kind of baby foreskin cream too. So it looks like she has clearcoat on her face. I'm pretty sure she's wearing a wig because her hair fell out. She went to that salon to get her wig styled. She hasn't known what was going on in America since the 80s. And even then she was a wealthy socialite from CA. They don't care. They will stay in office as long as they want because they like the power and it keeps them wealthy.

Holy shit that was the beginning of the end. She used to be very competent even though she was evil. I think she probably has some form of cognitive decline. Like, I get that it’s ageist and ableist to some degree, but between Pelosi, Biden, trump, even sanders, like these people are old as shit and their brains are decaying

She is a terrible person, and while all of these posts ring true, she is but a spokesman for the party and the donor base.

Why are they like this? Well, it could be a number of things: social discipline of activists, disorientation and commitment to political paralysis, ideological commitment to neoliberal austerity policies, or genuine contempt for the public. All of which masks the goals of the ruling class of society, which is just brazen and naked kleptocracy for their own caste.

Giving aid to the public legitimizes the government's role in providing concrete and non-byzantine material support to the public, and that upsets the balance of power; desperate people don't have the time, attention, or physical strength to engage in politics (which is why politics is, as the Chapo hosts have said, a bourgeois affectation and sport rather than civic engagement) and challenge power so that the public remains alienated from power and indentured to learned helplessness. Which is the point.

Pelosi said it to that college student: We're capitalists, and that's just the way it is.

Meaning, that the game is to maintain this kleptocracy - kick the can down the road as it were - and suppress labor and the left from organizing a revolt of the masses as long as possible.

This sort of oppression and depraved indifference to the suffering of their own citizens is borne out of a fear of the unknown, a fear in change of social systems. A fear of cynical self-interest; their privileges abolished ; a fear of social calamity ; decades of propaganda teaching them if the dreaded socialism supplants them, it'd create plagues and mass death even worse than the current order.

Ruling classes are path dependent and can rarely change course unless the greater society changes the very tracks, the very course, and replaces the conductor of which their path is dependent on.

It is akin to an addiction that can only be overcome with intervention. There just isn't a sober FDR to do it for them now, so looks like Americans are stuck with them for the ride.

It's an internal power struggle; she wants AOC and all the others who might move the Democrats a little bit to the left to know whose party it is.

      Same with Biden's appointments.

If the House blocks it like publications are saying they're going to do: That'll be a kick in the balls. Nearly EVERYONE agrees it should be decriminalized. If it was federal level that'd be a huge boon and probably one of the good marks on Trump's (and I guess Bid's) record even though he (and the other he) had nothing to do with it.

I just think it's hilarious that Republicans voted against it. They've made it clear to people like us that the only difference between the parties is that Republicans don't want weed to be legal.

Idk if you're implying that "performative" votes are bad or not, but they aren't. Making a demonstration of what you as an individual or what your party stands for knowing that it won't pass because you don't have enough power right now is good politics. Its a message to the people that are paying attention. I mean thats what trying to pass a Medicare for All bill every congress is for right?
