      Yes! Finally a win for landlords! I cannot IMAGINE the stress of sitting on your ass, parasitically living off of the working poor. Sounds like a very challenging, essential job that we need to protect!! :mao-shining:

      I'm not the most informed voter in local elections, but my number one rule is to never vote for a small business owner, cop, or prosecutor.

        Every candidate for local office here is just some generic real estate developer or small business owner, like they hit a net worth of 10 or 20 million and decided they'd just buy a seat. No one ever covers these races, there's no way to find out who these assholes are or what their platform is, since there is effectively no local media. Most candidates don't even bother to have a Facebook page (and when they do it's always the most generic shit imaginable) but they sure do put up a shitload of those road-side signs. You never see any signs in anyone's yard though, only next to intersections. Bleak, but absolutely too boring for anyone to do anything about it.
