The George Floyd / BLM uprisings were incredible. Truly a site to behold. And then to take abolition seriously, even for a moment, I couldn't believe it. Really warms the heart.

CTH the sub used to be all about it before it got banned, I would like to see a return to form.

If you can spare cash, you can go do belligerent protesting now at the Line 3 pipeline campground with Giniw. You will get that same sense of anger and hostility with them, without the urban setting. I would encourage you to channel your original feeling into whatever org is doing the best work in your area currently.

That’s my favorite too. You just know so many people were radicalized out on those streets. And the fact it was happening in every single city was amazing. Every day a statue got taken down, people were fighting back, really gave me something to live for and I believe once it gets warm again people will be back out. This fight ain’t over.

Tear gas and rubber bullets are not something that someone forgets. Literally took me seeing someone's leg seeping blood after they were shot from the perch of the 3rd precinct during the 2nd day of the protests before I decided to act. I remember how tear gas hits you the first time, how you literally have to run because your throat closes up. I remember all of that. Motivates a person.

I had a pretty decent job that came with the benefit of free tickets to plays and musicals all around the city. Most of the time there were parties after work free food and booze, so I could play bourgeois while pushing for a front of house union.

I got much more fun out of the GameCube one when I was 12 lol. I guess I’ve just grown out of it or something. Something about this one didn’t hook me, I felt like somehow the interactions with your townsfolk were more meaningful in the old game.

Class consciousness has to have grown massively this year. "Essential worker" has come into popular discourse and there is a new understanding of what really keeps society going. The first week of BLM protests was incredible. I think we got a lot closer to revolution than we thought we did.

I'm on the chopping block at work for dying my hair pink/purple and painting my nails while presenting as male which is especially irritating because they tell me I'm the most productive employee in my department

Also one of the owners says I dye my hair because my mother didn't love me enough as a child

I know I warned about doomerism before but the US hoarding vaccines worldwide just so governors can literally watch them spoil is both the kind of pathetic shit you expect from American political leadership, but it also gives me the feeling that I still can't fully fathom how dreadful it really is.

Dear Maoists: you criticize Dengist right deviation, but criticize it on the iPhones that Dengist right deviation produced. Curious.

It's a shame that afaik, the person who ran the fake Neera Tanden account on the old sub didn't make it over here. Or at least, that person isn't doing the bit anymore. That was some top-shelf parody.

2020 was a weird year for me. Started it as slightly progressive bernie lib but quickly snowballed to here. Probably one of the biggest reorientations I've experienced in my life so far

Anyway, thanks for helping me on my journey comrades, here's to 2021!

Just wanna say thanks to everyone for helping to radicalize me over the past year. I was loosely socialist at this time last year and I don't think I could ever have grown into the person I am today without y'all cyberbullying me to read Lenin :heart-sickle:

I feel like I'm going to explode due to stress. Just earlier this month I lost my job after a manager lied and said I was sleeping at work and HR just took his word for it, so now I'm out of a job and my family's pressuring me to find something else and move out in a short amount of time. Problem is, rent in my city has skyrocketed (its almost impossible to find somewhere below $1,000 a month) and minimum wage is $12 and hour. I can always move to a different city, but the idea of moving to a new house and finding a new job in a new city has me losing my hair.

I don't really have a point with all this, I'm just stressed as hell and need to vent.

I had a new years resolution to lose weight this year and I actually did! 40 lbs down. Most of that was starting from early November to today when I actually took it more seriously.

Wish I had a better story for it or at least something inspiring or something, but I decided I wanted to lose weight and then I ate less and took up walking 30 min a day. Nothing cool or anything, no great aha style moment.
