No one's claiming Trump isn't xenophobic or transphobic, the point is that he is not any more so than any other president

Lincoln died 156 years ago, he is completely irrelevant to everything today. Compare Trump to Bush, who founded ICE, or Obama, who built many of their concentration camps.

"Any other president [who is relevant to today's political climate in any way whatsoever]" is the implication there. But anyway, even if you did genuinely misunderstand what I was saying, you wouldn't be doubling down on it now that I have clarified. You're not here to discuss in good faith, you're just stirring shit. Log off.

                          Nothing would fundamentally change

Trump as a dictator would be doing the same shit he's been doing for the past 4 years, which is the same as the shit Biden is going to do for the next 4 years

he has to at least pretend to conform to some kind of constitution that isn’t “whatever I say goes”

no he doesnt. at no point has he pretended to conform to any rules. trump has literally done everything he wants to do for his entire life, he didnt stop just because he became president. democrats never meaningfully opposed him in any way

because hes a grifter who wants a good story about valiantly fighting but being cheated out of victory by the corrupt establishment

that's what he was looking for back in 2016 too, but then he accidentally won

If our big wet boy can pull it off, it would be better for the US in the long run than Biden’s inauguration bringing about “The great PMC brunch”

I don't think the left is ready for fascist acceleration (and a coup definitely changes Trump from "kinda-sorta-arguably proto-fascist" to "yeah that's just fascism"). There aren't enough of us, we aren't well enough organized, and we aren't well enough armed.

If you're never going to be ready for fascist acceleration, then you definitely want to avoid it.

Accelerationism is like going around hoping some Proud Boy picks a fight with you. If you can win the fight, that's not a bad idea. If you can't, it's a terrible idea, at least until you can win the fight. If you don't think you'll ever be able to win the fight, better find some other way to achieve whatever you're trying to achieve.

The only big difference would be that the brunch would be crepes and mimosas instead of McBreakfast

If Trump were to pull off the coup than we would have a president who publicly called for $2000 checks instead of one who thinks the american people don't want a handout.

That's technically true, but Trump doesn't desire $2000 welfare as much as stirring shit with the establishment who wronged him

yeah, I was just doomer posting. it was meant to be read as a joke about how dark the situation is that despite having almost no difference between what will happen, there are even ways that superficially biden gets outflanked from the left by trump. just nothing good in any direction.
