Is it really happening? Maybe this is all just a simulation to test out how absud they can turn the world around you before you break? Maybe you are just a brain in a jar.

If this is all a simulation then it's still happening I'd say. I'd consider a sentient AI to be a living being in the same sense as a human, so if they count we still count imo

Fair. It would be your reality for all intents and purposes and thus actually real. Huh. Still a shitty reality tho. Cant they put up a simulated universe with catoon physics or something? Ugh.

I mean, I'd argue that whether or not the universe itself is simulated, your reality absolutely is. Your brain simulates reality based off stimuli, but it's not real

But yeah, I've said before that our reality could very well be just a super advanced future videogame about a ridiculous alt-history political scenario

Thats an interesting take. Lets assume its a game with at least one player. Trump would be a prime candidate. Now, if someone puts a bullet in his head in minecraft, would that mean the game is over and our existences would be erased on the spot? Would fucking suck!

I like to imagine that when a simulation ends that iteration of us is freed to explore the simulation as we like

That would be interesting. It would turn one into a literal god of that reality. But you cant count on the benevolence of beings that can simulate a conciousness at will. Why would they value an individual conciousness if they just played a game in wich said conciousnesses were made to suffer?

If they've achieved that level of technology they're probably in luxury space communism, I have no reason to assume they'd behave like modern capitalists would y'know?

Or there was an enslaved AI controlled by a megacorp that created a technological singularity. I dont think communism is inevitable. Have portable cameras filming each individual while monitoring their communication and combibe that with a strong self learning algorythm and a surveilence state requires almost no manpower. Then give the pictures and facial recognition to some non thinking killer drones (like cops, just... no, like cops. Just keep the cops) and boom, you have a hellhole dystopia with technological progress thanks to AI.

Oh I don't think it's inevitable either, but I do think its the only outlandish scenario like this I care to even consider for my sanity haha
