The next console I’m getting is a ps5 digital edition, point blank period, regardless of what goes on with Bethesda games. Still, I would hate to miss out on one of my favorite series of all time due to it being an Xbox and game pass exclusive. If I have to miss out on it for awhile, I’ll miss out on it, I hope that’s not the case though. I honestly hate exclusives, they’re anti-consumer as shit tired of Stone Age practices like ‘exclusives’. Not everyone out here can afford to buy multiple fuckin expensive ass consoles

Anyways, enough of my rambling What do you guys think will happen? I have a feeling they will end up being exclusive, but I can’t 100% say

Are we so sure they are really working on an ES6 and not focusing on some way to resell Skyrim for the 7th time? Honestly I just checked some articles about this and it seems like our generation will have been conscripted into the Water Wars before TES6 exclusivity is something we have to worry about. Either way, your body of text indicates to me that you have already decided on your move, so I will post this Kahlil Gibran quote that provided me with solace when I was trying to make a decision about a relationship in college:

"Most people who ask for advice from others have already resolved to act as it pleases them."

ES6 is in very very early production at best at this point. They've always said that they were gonna do Starfield before they started doing more than pre-production for ES6, and it's very unclear when Starfield is gonna come out. If it comes out this year, which some believe is possible, then ES6 has probably just started actual production. We definitely will see a version of Skyrim for PS5/XBSX before ES6 comes out though, but I do believe they're actually going to make it. It'd make more than enough money that the corporate marketing bits of the company would be for it, and the higher-ups on the Dev teams like Todd (who gets too much shit for stuff that's not his fault because he's the face of the company, imo) do genuinely give a shit about the series.

Did I already talk to you about what you think will happen with Elder Scrolls and Fallout? If I’ didn’t, what do you feel will happen, timed exclusive full exclusive or what?

Almost certainly some kind of exclusivity, TES and Fallout are way too big of gets for Microsoft to not do that. They're still gonna release them on PC no matter what, and I lean towards timed exclusivity before it ends up on Playstation, but they could just straight up not release at all them on Playstations too. No real way to tell as of yet.

I didn’t ask for advice though. I asked what people thought. You would have a point if I was asking which console to get.

Don’t know why people post this kind of stuff towards people

Huh? It wasn't supposed to be aggressive towards you (maybe Bethesda, yes). It seemed like you were soul searching for encouragement to go through with your decision. I wasn't kidding when I said that quote helped give me the confidence understand that by asking for advice, I was really looking for "permission", and helped me to go through with a tough choice I was facing at the time. I thought it would help give you confidence to pull the trigger TBH.

My guess only timed exclusives for existing titles like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. MSFT would be losing out on a lot of money if not. New titles who knows.

I was thinking they might lean towards being timed exclusives and on game pass as well.

We will see in like 4-5years from now

Yes. Why would you spend billions and then not press your advantage? Microsoft only bought ZeniMax because their first party studio Line up is really bad compared to Sony. You'll be able to play them on PC though so there's that for you.

There's not a single Bethesda series I care about.

I don’t own a PC dude, I can’t afford to build a decent enough one that would justify me getting a PC over a console.

If you don’t care about them, fair enough. Though I don’t know why you had to tell me.

You have no PC at all? Not even a laptop to like to do work on?
Well you're right. A $500 PC can't compete with a console in terms of value. That's why I don't seriously game on PC either. For the Bethesda/id Software and Arkane fan it sucks. They'll need to get on a Microsoft platform. You have one option though if Microsoft's game streaming thing takes of and you have an acceptable PC by then. In 2 years I predict the consoles will drop by $100 and maybe you'll be able to get one of the Series X|S. Do you have any friends who'll have an XBox instead? When the time comes you can trade for a few months to try exclusives on both sides. If I had a friend who wanted to I'd lend my PS no problem.

If you don’t care about them, fair enough. Though I don’t know why you had to tell me.

Yeah that was shitty of me. I just needed to say it and maybe start a discussion? I don't know. I was being a poophead.

No, I just can’t afford it. personally I’m getting the 399 disc less PS5. Then, way down the line I’ll get a cheap series S if I have to to play Halo Infinite and elder scrolls 6.

Yup though, PC gaming where it would actually be worth it, is outside of my price range. If have had at least 7-800 bucks I might consider it.

Consoles where I’m at for now though.

Also, don’t worry you weren’t that bad

Sounds realistic. They will at least be timed exclusives, that’s not hard to figure out

I don't think Bethesda has enough good will stored for such a move.. I could be wrong and maybe a new ip could be exclusive but I don't see it happening with tes, fallout, doom or wolfenstein..

Unless Sony allows Gamepass on Playstation (they won't), they'll be exclusive. But it'll be a few years before that really kicks in, there's probably contract they have to honor and shit.

Yeah we will see, but I’m not holding out hope. I think anyone should be able to play anything they want on any device.

Sucks because I’m deciding to get PS5 first due to the Demon souls remake that I might not play ES6 for a long ass time. Again, I don’t have the money to splurge on consoles and video games. I’m barely going to be able to afford one for awhile.

I think you’re right. The only way we are seeing Starfield or Elder Scrolls 6 on PlayStation is if game pass is somehow given a playstation app version

I’ll probably get the series S down the line. I don’t mind paying 200-250 for a secondary console.

see, this is why I buy PC's. I can't necessarily emulate current gen stuff, but I eventually don't have to give a quarter fuck about exclusivity.

If I had the money, I’d be doing PC as well. I hate the console exclusivity atmosphere the consoles bring, it’s anti-consumer as fuck

yeah I can't with it. have you considered looking at used laptops/desktops? that might be a space where you can find more cost efficient stuff. you won't get anything cutting edge, but a solid gaming pc for 500 is very doable used.

The only contract they have to honor is for that time loop game. Any other games are so far away that things can be changed.
