ToyAgumon - it’s an online child-grooming dinosaur made of duplos or something that falls to literal pieces when startled. Its one redeeming factor is that it has a corrupted form which cyber-bullies kids, which is both inarguably cool and an unqualified good.

Any Pokemon is worse at being a Digimon than Digimon are at being Digimon. I'm gonna have to go with Jigglypuff.

    Puppetmon. Cause he's creepy.

I'd better not see Wizardmon mentioned in here.

easily numemon, it's fuck ugly and unfunny and that hits too close to home

Also they remind me of those ojama monstrosities from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, and they're possibly worse

I hate Submarimon in Adventure 02 he is way too specialised, completely usesless on land and it's just creepy to ride inside a digimon. Also I love Zudomon and Ikkumon and it didn't remind me enough of them.

They did Ankylomon dirty. Can't say he has a drill of knowledge for no reason and then becomes a submarine. Shakkoumon had a really cool design but seemed really stiff. Cody was cool and deserved more. Adventure 02 really needed like 15 more episodes less of digimon emperor monster of the week and put those on the back end to actually finish plot points.

Myotismon because he was the bad guy in the show

Myotismon had the best line in the dub though

I just remembered being at my grandparent's place when the VenomMyotismon 2 parter aired when I was a kid. My grandparents were glued to it by the end. They never got the appeal of Pokemon but they remembered that as a wild fucking ride, if on demand shows existed I'm sure they would have watched the whole thing.

It was super book of revelations the whole way through. All of the people who were gathered in the hospital passed out then awoke chanting for Myotismon then at 6:06 and six seconds he revives as a big ass devil. Izzy gets sent a prophecy by Gennai that once they figure it out is that Angemon and Angewomon need to shoot Matt and Tai respectively with arrows (they didn't really know if this would work or just kill their brothers when making this call mind you) anyway that let's Augumon and Gabumon digivovle to Mega and then Hey Digimon plays in the dub while they win cause tone. Then the digiworld appears upside-down in the sky and is now spiral mountain cause of the time difference between the two worlds meaning they've been gone for years and gotta go fix shit and now their parents were on board. It was also the first and maybe only time I've seen a kid adventure series where the parents actually are there, and take an active role cause they figure out this is serious shit.

You should watch the third season. IIRC it has similar stuff with the parents getting on board and the whole digital world interacting with the real world stuff.

Top tier is Adventure 02 stopping everything after the Digimon Emperor was beat and doing the darkest episode ever about Ken's home life. I can also recall that getting a 'what are you watching?' from my folks.

I LOVE season 3 and it fucked with me hard as an 11 year old. The same person who made it did Serial Experiment Lain, I actually found an old production website in Japanese that had a lot of offscreen worldbuilding in preproduction. I'm trying to track it down but not having a ton of luck yet. It goes into how they actually researched the fuck out of usenet and IT development to try to get things as close to real as possible as well as philosophical themes and a lot of weirdness, it reads like the notes for a silent hill game more than a kids show

OH SHIT I FOUND IT! Page translation is iffy but you can get the points. It's a neat read.

The localization wasactually produced by Leonard Nimoy's nephew and he voiced Tentomon. Everything I love is somehow connected to Star Trek and that's fine.
