There's entire archives full of nothing but bland corporate art like that, to be licensed for advertising, corporate leaflets, brochures etc. There's even people whose entire job it is to sift through this crap and find suitable images, they're called art buyers.
When i worked in advertising, we sometimes just used memes, but that was always internally, for early drafts, mood boards and the like. When you want to publish anything officially, you need to clear the rights in advance, so using stock image archives is a convenient way to do that without having to hire an illustrator or photographer.
