I am happy to say I've actually encountered the meme Trot with a newspaper! I didn't quite understand what was going on, but it was a wild enough situation I bought one. Really wish I'd kept it. This was in Chicago in 2014 or so.
The only active groups around here are trots and syndies. The trots are pretty good to team up with, but you really do always end up with a newspaper on your way home.
