I view gun control as a public health response, I don't look at it from a revolutionary lens. My view on guns is very similar to my stance on cars, take them off the streets. I think there would be an initial reaction of violence by the right wing but I'm confident the state could suppress them. In the long term gun control would stop a lot of right wing terrorism and murders. I don't think the conversation I'm having with you is constructive because you view guns as the tool required to overthrow capitalism and that makes you unable to support gun control except in the most utopian of circumstances. Well let's talk about something we can agree on, the police!

I think in the United States we need police officers, but they need to be reformed beyond recognition. There needs to be hiring quotas so that white officers aren't the majority in any department, there needs to be strict use of force guidelines, there needs to be a purge of the current police force with criminal charges applied to many of them retroactively, we need to abolish the death penalty, we need to get police out of their cars, we need to give police more training. Anyone here disagree with my sentiment on police?

Marginalized people are some of the most vocal supporters of gun control because they are the biggest victims of gun violence. Homicide is the 4th leading cause of death for black men in this country and that's because of the proliferation of guns, I'm not arguing for outright gun abolition, but I am calling for their control in a manner that violates Marx's mandate. You say the fascists will not give up their guns and you are right, so let's not take them by force, we should make them afraid to use them. I'm calling for a ban on all gun production. That means stores, ranges, factories. Shut them all down, do to them what Republicans did to abortion clinics. Whenever we get a Kyle Rittenhouse or George Zimmerman killing people in self defense we need the ability to mobilize protesters, we don't need guns for a riot, we can always keep our own illegal stashes of guns if there comes a time for violence, the fascists will do the same. But really, do we want violence? If we're speaking pragmatically I think we should avoid it at all possible, we don't need a monopoly in the thing we should be trying to abolish.

The words of Marx aren't gospel, gun violence is a very real issue and the only solution I can reasonably think of is state enforced gun control, America needs to do something similar to the Good Friday Agreement that disarmed the IRA. Not to diss on the IRA here but I think we can all agree that it's a good thing that the troubles are over, I think people in the United States need to recognize that hoarding guns for the eventual overthrow of the government is delusional, class war, race war, religious war, none of that is inevitable and we would be much better off putting that money into food kitchens than gunstores.

I've heard so much already "I need guns to kill fascists". All I have to say is the fascists have more guns than us.

I don't think Bernie would have been ineffectual as president in 2016 or 2020, he just would be controversial. Let's start with the big issue, Israel. He would firmly be for a two state solution, he wouldn't support an Israeli apartheid but he definitely wouldn't have a stance that would please the left or right. You know how Trump visited North Korea to inflate his own ego? I would suspect Bernie would go to Tel Aviv, meet with Palestinian leaders, meet with Israeli leaders, and broker something resembling peace. I don't think Israel and Palestine would have bombed each other with Bernie as president but I doubt he would have gone to North Korea like Trump did.

As for other things he would do differently than Trump or Biden, he wouldn't of assassinated that Iranian general, he would of pissed off Saudi Arabia when they killed that journalist on US soil, he would have stayed in the Paris climate accords (not that it mattered), not him exactly but the media wouldn't have a figure like Trump to report on 24/7, Assange would probably be free right now since the Obama administration was afraid to touch him and the only reason why he got arrested was that he pissed off Trump and I doubt Bernie would have beef with him. Covid is just a wild card, I doubt he would handle it well, it blindsided the world, I think his pro-lockdown stance would be tested and that would be the reason why he would lose the election, one consequence of that is the Republicans would most definitely be open to vaccines because no qanon bullshit and they would blame China a lot more than they do now. If anything the anti vaccine people would be more lib and pro lockdown in the bernie timeliness. If bernie was elected in 2020 he would do better than Biden hands down, so would Trump. Afghanistan was unavoidable but he maybe could avoid Ukraine.

    That's enough bullshitting for today.
