I remember when something like this was proposed on AskReddit, and the top answers were instant promotions to management because of their work ethic. Absolutely baffling bootlicking

      Just World Fallacy

"If the people on top aren't actually superior then my whole world is a lie."

"They're such good workers that they'd just work really hard and get promoted out of manual labor immediately."

          Oh. Yuck.

I thought she was saying that the redditors with the top answers were given promotions to management [at Kohls?], because I read too literally. Or because I'm higher than I realize.

It was surreal. It kinda felt more like describing supernatural beings than actual people, as though Jeff Bezos has enough capacity for manual labour and bootlicking ability to become a shareholder. Like, what if Zeus a casual at McDonald's?

Those on top with the power to shape their own image have always portrayed themselves as superior and deserving. The pharaohs literally claimed to be gods. Why else would they get such elaborate tombs built in their honor?

Oh the Egyptian afterlife was a gated community where if you were poor you just went straight to hell

Oh, the scenario was about fast food work. It was a surreal thread to read.
