(And who did not fall in line with the US? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I see Belarus amongst countries who voted FOR combatting Nazism? Interesting......)
The two countries in red are also the only places where a lot of "research" comes out that AKSHULLY Stalin killed 20 million Ukrainians in a famine because gommunism no food.
Don't get me started on her. She calls herself a historian and the media goes along with it, but she has ZERO academic credentials and it shows in her work. I mean, Barbara Tuchman wasn't an academic historian but she also just organized and presented facts, she didn't really do original research, which is where the real historians are valuable because they understand how to properly research history. Applebaum doesn't have this background but wants us to believe her heavily biased research is valid.
Blame Xi Jinping for time-traveling to the 1600s and brainwashing european settlers to be racist.
ccp MOIST be stopped, free honk honk
I think the countries who "abstained" (one of which I live in) are even worse in a way. How fucking hard is it to have a clear opinion on this? Cowards.
Exactly what my country (norway) was doing as well. Licking those US boots.
And we where literally fucking occupied by the nazis during the war.
Not much purging was done here really, because the nazis pretty much saw us as "the perfect aryans". We where those tall, blonde, blue eyed farmers you saw on every nazi propaganda poster.
But we have this thing where we love writing books and making movies and tv-shows about our resistance movement, and yet this is where we end up: Deepthroating that US boot, flushing our brains down the toilet, and doing literal nazi-apologism so Daddy Murica won't get upset with us. Not even a century later, and even just a few years after the whole Breivik thing happened, here we are.
Holy fuck, we are such garbage.
Germany refuses to endorse an UN resolution on combating Nazism, who would have thought :curious-marx:
The entire imperial core abstaining or voting against, to be expected but still a big yikes. I know it's a saying that's been co opted by libs, but when someone tells you who they are, believe them
Always remember that Euromaidan was not a "victory for freedom and democracy" but a neo-Nazi coup
Speaking in explanation of vote after the vote, the representative of Italy, speaking on behalf of the European Union, said the Union was committed to fight against racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance with comprehensive efforts at national, regional and international levels. While States were free to decide what to include in the draft text, he noted that the Union was concerned about the sincerity of the text, as the main sponsor had violated the human rights...
Sponsors of the bill were:
Bangladesh, Belarus, Benin, Bolivia (Plurinational State of), Burkina Faso, Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Namibia, Nicaragua, the Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, the Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Turkmenistan, United Republic of Tanzania, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of) and Viet Nam: revised draft resolution
Reading between the lines, they're mad about Russian fuckery in Ukraine:
Speaking in explanation of vote before vote, the representative of the United States said she had joined other countries in expressing abhorrence for attempts to promote Nazi ideology, and condemning all forms of religious or ethnic hatred. Her delegation was concerned about the overt political motives that had driven the main sponsor of the current resolution. That Government had employed those phrases in the current crisis in Ukraine.
I honestly don't know what to think of this, it's above my pay grade.
Oh damn, "overt political motives" in the UN? We can't have that.
First SJWs brought politics into video games. Now even UN isn't safe from politics.
Hey, let's place nazi's on the border of russia again and hope no one notices.
Check out the big brain on Obama's CIA.. jfc
They lost 27 million people fighting nazi's the last time western imperialist tried this trick, you think Putin is going to let that shit slide?
NATO falls in line with American imperialism. Just with a slightly less enthusiastic tone.
Ukraine is just where all the Gladio Nazis ended up.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Germany already have laws that do this?
Because the US boot is just so fucking tasty.
Seriously, that's literally it. There is no other explanation.
They may have traded their vote for a strategic resource plus a few gold per turn.
Source: gamer.
also that India voted in favour, considering how openly nazi-inspired Hindutva is
It's not only a ukrainian thing. It's a thing in all post soviet eastern europe states, and it is absolutely horrible to watch. But ukraine has a special spot here, they have an entire branch of the military for neo-nazis (look up the azov battalion). Russia also sends neo-nazis as volunteers in eastern-ukraine, and honestly, I don't care anymore, as long as they kill each other, I'm just fine with that.
Yeah, I was aware of the legacy of CIA anti-soviet fascist agitation, but it seems way more prevalent in Ukraine in comparison to other post-soviet states, but maybe I'm just less aware of them.
sent this too someone who questioned the validity of the data
found the vote: https://digitallibrary.un.org/record/1656166?ln=en
looks to completely match up with the exception of Niger here is green, while absent from the vote.
