A student in Norway, who asked to remain anonymous, also told Motherboard about how he had experimented with placing snus inside his foreskin. “I was bored and about to take a snus and masturbate, and my curiosity got the better of me,” he said. “So I tucked it in. It was a low-strength all-white dry portion and I didn’t feel too much of an effect. Maybe it would’ve been different with a stronger, moist one.”

    Dudes rock.

Why is this under the banner of Motherboard lol

The Danish National Health Institute did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Motherboard.

    I wouldn't either

I've heard of some weird ways to cure ED, but this takes the cake.

Oh yeah, I remember reading about this in the Danish newspapers a couple of days ago. Still not sure about the validity of the foreskin guy, but the other ones have been reported by the cops and nurses both. Apparenty its a reaction / response to our government doing something about the availibility of snus, that disgusting swedish tobacco shit, but I don't really know anyone who takes that regularly so I'm not sure.

I think banning snus might be one of the few things that would actually cause a serious political crisis in Sweden. If you're in any trade job it seems half the people use it, including younger women.

i live in finland and i know several people who make road trips to the swedish border just to bulk buy snus, either to sell or to use it themselves.

The conservatives basically campaign on the fact that they won't ban snus. No one else want's to ban it, but it is one way the conservatives make themselves look like the cool party.

I don't know why they're fucking with Snus. Its essentially only available in Sweden and the US. Its banned across Europe despite cigs being A-okay.

its pasteurized so not remotely as awful for you, doesn't fuck with your lungs either.

Oropharyngeal cancer is really awful, aggressive and disfiguring; surgery is almost always necessary and the resulting drop in quality of life is almost unparalleled. Plus the interactions between ethanol and the carcinogens in treated tobacco, commonly combined in this age group, have an exponential and dramatic effect in creating ideal conditions for dysplasia and malignancy, especially when combined with an ideal environment for HPV transmission and colonization.

Of course, tobacco (in a pouch or not) will wreak havoc on your dentition, as well.

Yes, I don't disagree, but in comparison to chewing tobacco or smoking, snus is a far less harmful option according to the studies that have been done. One study followed something like 125k swedish construction workers who used snus and never smoked for 10-20 years and found no significant increase in cancer rates. Also the rate of occurrence of the identified cancer-causing molecules in things like chewing tobacco or snuff is something like a few orders of magnitude less

I'm not saying everyone should start using Snus, especially not boofing it, but it is considerably less harmful than other forms of tobacco use and doesn't leave my lungs feeling clogged like vaping. I don't think my nicotine usage is good but it could be worse. Also, I thankfully have some basic dental insurance that covers the twice a year checkups and the only complaint they have to me is I need to floss more. I've been an irregular snus user for around 5 years, mostly when I need a kick.

I agree with everything you said. I'm not attacking anybody's use of snus or tobacco. Nicotine by itself isn't that bad of a drug for younger adults, apart from the addiction itself, but later in life it can really exacerbate arterial and cardiovascular disease.

From a public health perspective, in a country with subsidized and universal health care, banning a well studied, known carcinogen makes perfect sense. Personally, I don't agree with that decision, and completely understand why they're appealing the ban.

yeah from a public health perspective I get it too. I get sorta annoyed with lop sided hyper targeted banning of substances. Like if the EU just said "sorry no more smoking or snus or anything", it'd be different. The EU banned oral tobacco with the main consideration being chewing tobacco which is some awful awful stuff, but left cigarettes because France would riot at levels never before seen. Sweden would probably drop out of the EU before seriously accepting a ban on snus.

The Danish need to have their foreskins confiscated as they are clearly unable to use them responsibly.

Nah, from what I understand, half the fun of owning one is using it to casually feel weird stuff. It's supposed to feel blissful. This story is triggering my major foreskin envy, ngl. :doomjak:

millions of years ago, a plant stumbled across a chemically and energetically efficient way to reduce the amount of insects munching on it.

humans find the plant and realize they can't just eat it because it tastes terrible and induces intense nausea + vomiting, but wonder... "what if we dried it out and then sucked on it, but mostly spit it out?"

then, "light it on fire and breathe the smoke. hits you way quicker!"

and then, "chop it up ultrafine with a machine, like into a dust, package it into something that dissolves and suck on that!"

and ultimately, "cram that it in your shitter!"

the great chain of history is finding ways to get buzzed.

God damn, ive never thought about that aspect of having a foreskin. Now I kind of wish I hadn't been Harvy Kellogg'd as a baby, I could have been absorbing tabs of acid through my dick all these years.
