I went to the cumtown website once. They are nothing 'like us'.

We’re not much like the CTH podcast either.

I think when the CTH/Cumtown communities properly split, Cumtown got the racists and the nazbols whereas we got the cool people.

I subscribed to this theory 😎 when I visited, I knew nothing about them. I spent about ten minutes there and was disgusted, and when someone told me they're leftists afterward I didn't believe them.

I kind of still don't believe them, tbh. In my time there, I glanced through a few posts and saw actually no reason to believe they're leftists. It was just all racist and ableist jokes. Not a leftist idea as far as the eyes could see. I genuinely thought it was a chud website. Weird and gross and I'm never going back

We definitely got the cool people haha

They think they're anti-idpol but they treat class as an identity. It's fucking cringe. They hate "petty personal grievance politics" but that's literally all they do.

It's very much a teenage angst kind of non-conformity.
'I am so non-conformist, I will construct my entire identity around direct opposition to that thing that I'm definitely not, thusly definitely not just becoming a charicature of that thing'
Like... imagine being so petulant that you can't say bad words that you just only say bad words as your whole bit. I can't imagine haha

Exactly what happened with me and leftypol.

i wonder how many leftists would be listening if it hadn't been for chapo talking about them frequently.

I got banned from the cumtown discord extremely fast for doing nothing beyond having a Chapo-associated grill prill pic.

      the cumtown website

they made the subreddit private, banned leftists and movd off the site through dming people still subscribed so its pretty deliberate cultivation of fash listeners on that site likely

I won't try and say it isn't a bit problematic, but there's an oddly cathartic sense to Cum Town's humor. It probably does some negative influence on more impressionable listeners but I think the racially/sexually charged humor on the show is more of a commentary on contemporary societal attitudes towards racism and sexuality than it is on the groups of people who are the subjects of the jokes. I don't know if that makes it ok, but it's certainly better than outright racism.

It's kind of like the difference between finding it funny that Bill Maher thought he could get away with saying the n-word vs thinking it's ok that he said it.

It's absolutely the best kind of great, stupid catharsis. Like hanging out with your funniest friends in middle school study hall.

Lol that's almost exactly how I describe it to people. Dumbass middle school humor with better impressions.

Some of the appeal to me is sorta laughing at myself for still having that immature sense of humor. The fact that I think any of this idiot shit is funny at all actually doubles down and makes it funnier.

Definitely. They're trying to make each other laugh by saying deranged shit and it works on me too.
