I've read a decent amount of his stuff, it's all based on vibes. X thing has y vibes. Y thing has z vibes, so even while x doesn't have z vibes, they are connected by vibe chain. So, if you compare this list of things that share vibes with z and things that share vibes with x, see the connection? (There is no connection) Thats why it's a common story trope for things with x vibes to interact with things in this way. And the reason why it's a story trope is because it's true. And there is never an end or point to any of it. I remember it like: initial thing he got famous for was misunderstanding a Canadian bill dealing with discrimination. One of his students had transitioned part way through the class and Peterson continued to deadname her and use the wrong pronouns. Student filed with the school for harassment. Peterson refused to use the student's preferred pronouns, saying that any attempt to coerce him into doing so was evil Marxist commie tyranny. Chuds had a field day with him, comparing him to Rosa Parks.

A part of it is that psychology is seen as a kind of left wing science by a lot of chuds. A lot of findings of psychology go against their preconceived notions of how you should treat other people, and yourself. Don't beat kids. Don't make fun of fat people to make them healthier. Trans people are helped more by transitioning than by trying to squash their transness out of them. Believing wholeheartedly in western masculinity is harmful to men. Etc
JBP is "their guy" in that space. This is necessary because a lot of them believe in the aesthetics of science. While psychology has a lot of problems as a science, a lot of its conclusions are based on data. Thus they need a psych daddy to tell them that no, the science is on their side.
