From the tone of the video titles it seems a certain type of dude is very invested in this marital dispute between two rich and famous people

It clogs up Twitter feeds too. I have less than zero interest in the personal lives of either of these people yet I know far too much about them just from my eyes scanning over the clickbait headlines. It's pretty wild how effectively social media has recreated the supermarket aisle tabloid in digital form. Everyone just knew the intimate details of the royal family or the Kardashians or whatever just from standing in the checkout line- knowledge that was thrust upon us whether or not we consented to learning it.

Ha! Joke's on them, I space out so hard when shopping I might as well be quantum tunneling through the whole ordeal. Daydreaming gang!

Also weirdly there’s nothing about the multiple abuse allegations against Depp, but loads of videos of him being wholesome with kids and OWNING Heard’s lawyer. Sounds like a shitty abusive relationship for both of them but Reddit will never admit that their wholesome 100 actor friend could ever do wrong

I don't follow this celeb stuff, but I recall Johnny Depp being quote unquote cancelled 😱 due to said allegations a couple of years ago, like the public opinion of him was that he was a pathetic burned-out has-been as well as a domestic abusing piece of shit.

Reactionaries see this as a famous guy managing to Uno Reverse Card getting metooed and are delighting in it. Unlike Keanu, I don't think anyone has cared about Johnny Depp as an actor in at least 15 years, so it's just dudes cheering on him getting one over on his HORRIBLE LYING BITCH WIFE :frothingfash:

Johnny Depp has found a place amongst Brendan Fraser/Keanu Reeves/Hayden Christensen etc. as a beloved actor from their childhood making big comeback with the added bonus of it being over his evil Karen ex-wife :so-true:

If he wins this defamation case he'll be vindicated in the public eye and we ignore his share of domestic abuse assigning 100% of the blame on Amber Heard. Depp hasn't gotten major roles since 2018 so he'll probably get to play Glurp Shitto in the next Star Wars or smth

It's being pushed by the right on both reddit and other reactionary spaces as a tool to put the final nail in the coffin on metoo and any sense of believing women.

The second they decided that they were gonna run Biden, it was an all out attack on #metoo. From the get go, #metoo was not really meant to be "for" everyone. There was no room in the conversation for poor people or super rich people. The only victims we were hearing from were richer than you or I will ever be, but not influential enough to really get anything done. The weird goldilocks zone of entertainers who were largely all white was all the evidence I needed to know this was just another Occupy Wall Street movement type thing that looked good on paper, but was mostly meant to pacify the masses.

Ukraine ended Covid, Will Smith ended Ukraine, Johnny Depp's ex-wife Eve Barlow ended Will Smith

Johnny Depp wanted this trial to be public so he can use his acting skills to gain back some public will after losing it when being found guilty of abuse.

Both parties involved are abusive assholes, but you won't see that mentioned right now.

I don't really know whats going on in depth. But one of the things I've heard is there is tape of Heard admitting she was abusing him and that no one in the public would ever believe Depp's side of the story. That sort of thing makes it very hard for people to trust anything Heard says.

honestly the best thing for everyone involved would be to just give them both restraining orders on each other

Same. Constantly and from different channels.

I’ve also been getting a ton of Jim Carrey related clips despite never watching anything to do with Jim Carrey

I assume he's a POS since he's a rich guy, but I've had a soft spot for Carrey ever since he made Mussolini's grand daughter cry and shit her pants on Twitter by posting a painting of her dead fascist grandpa.

He apparently used “method acting” as an excuse to be a big prick and make everyone hate working with him but that’s objectively pretty cool lmao

It definitely feels like an astroturf/PR push, esp with stuff like "she cut my finger off" and "she shit the bed" being a huge focus of it - both of them seem pretty horrible (though that shouldn't be taken as a defense of Depp)

Yeah me too, I told youtube to stop doing it. I don't know what the fuck I clicked on to make it think I care about it. Reddit has been trying really hard to make it a thing too but it doesn't seem to be gaining much traction.
