Yeah, I came accross one of those a few weeks ago. Was obvious within 10 seconds but only because they leaned too hard on the scam.

there's going to be like a million subjective realities. kind of like the eternal inflationary cosmological model but for humanity. so i guess your collapse will be our vacuum metastability event.

because the biggest recent scandal w.r.t. to doctored footage was that slowed down recording of nancy pelosi, which can be done with technology we've had for the past 40 years, and you don't need to be stanley fucking kubrick to pull it off, compared to that, deepfaking is just vanity

Legit, MI6 reported Chinese tracking chips on the bottom of some British MP's cars. Absolutely ludicrous. What the fuck would China even want that information for? Why risk anything at all just to see that some doddering old removed is going between parliament and their London flat?

IIRC China recently discussed implementing laws requiring AI imagery to be marked in some way to distinguish it, the reddit brigade ofc responded by going "höhö they're just doing this so they can mark any dissent as AI fakery".

It's just used in movies to de-age actors or to insert President Reagan in tv show dream sequences.

It's mostly used in porn these days. There were some improvements in it which generated discussions on whether it was no different than crude photoshops. But AI art has mostly taken the spotlight since it's gotten much better in a relatively short amount of time.

We got bored and moved on to the next manmade horror beyond our comprehension. It's still a potential problem, but eventually people get numb to it and move on to focus on the next thing in the unending avalanche of nightmarish horror that is life in the 21st century. Plus, with Q-anon, it probably doesn't seem as impressive that you can make a video of Barack Obama confessing to murder when millions of people publicly believe in the wildest shit.

Like did they need deepfakes to do a complete 180 on Ukraine from dysfunctional Nazi infested corrupt shithole to shining bastion of democracy fighting a totally unprovoked defensive war against bolshevofascist oppression?

Why deepfake when an ARMA 3 video does the job for 99% of people?

It is odd that no one hasn't used the ai technology to do some shady statecraft espionage type shit via the media. Like a subtle video leaked to Fox News of Biden caught on a hot mic professing his love for Xi or something.

Bruh watch Tucker Carlson some times they don't put any effort in to it. They just say stuff and their partisans believe it. Like the groomer thing. There's vast amounts of evidence against it and the CHUDs do not give a single shit. FOx can just say stuff.
