I will be visiting the Big Apple, New Yawk, which is what Midwesterners call NYC despite not knowing the context for the nickname no one uses in the first place.
So far I have:
✅️ whistling and yelling TAXI at my ubers while looking at my invisible wristwatch holding a briefcase with nothing in it.
✅️ having an authentic nyc pizza at Sbarro (I'm a bit of a foodie)
✅️ setting myself on fire at the Times Square M&Ms store, screaming "your false chocolate idols will not save you from the inevitable collapse of capitalism"
✅️ going to a real new york BOw-DE-Ga where they still use sticker pricing guns
✅️ watching the sunset shift change from squirrels to rats from Central Perk
Can anyone suggest some actual ideas plz.
I'll accept joke / bit answers too but ask that you balance them with an actual idea. Bonus if they get me out of Midtown/ Lower East Side.
For reference i've been to the city a lot, and all the to-do lists are normie reddit tier terrible foodie rehash.
Go to the worlds biggest Applebees in Times Square and then loudly proclaim “so this is why they call it the big apple” They love that shit
let's not just dismiss the M&Ms store self-immolation idea out of hand...
Doing this is the closet thing i actually have to retirement plan.

I have friends that live in Crown Heights and Jackson Heights, so we eventually end up in Brooklyn/Queens too. You're right about Coney I like it for some kitsch reason too, that and Brighton Beach, but I'm going this week so it's still too cold.
You're right too tall buildings are lame, and I'll never get a reservation at Sbarro at the zero hour, they book months in advance
100% agreed on the High Line. Everytime I'm in Chelsea I try to walk it, it's just so serene and nice even though it's stuffed with people and a stark representation of everything wrong with Manhattan. I hate that I love it so much. I always walk north for some reason, so every time I finish in the earthly hell that is Hudson Yards and it's bleak, but everything before that is at least calming.
The Strand Bookstore is the only thing I check out every time I'm in NYC.
I can't get a proper "wandering around for hours in a big-ass used bookstore" experience near home anymore. They've all closed.
I love a good book store, also if you're ever in Detroit, look up John K King Used & Rare books.
Accidentally get into a New Yorker’s way on the street and then smile and say “sorry” as you quickly move out of their way. New Yorkers get so mad when people are polite.
The museums are good, especially the Met and MoMA, but I’m sure whatever guides you’ve already read say that. Up by the Guggenheim museum in the upper east side there are some old mansions built by the gilded age robber barons (Rockefeller, Carnegie, etc), one or two of which you can wander around inside of. I think one of them you don’t even need to pay anything to get in, but I can’t remember which one.
That + Met + pretty sure there's a big Sebastião Salgado permanent exhibition somewhere in NYC.
The sad thing is that 3 days is very short and museums tend to be full day commitments.
Go to wall street and yell JUMP, JUMP, JUMP. Get people on the street chanting it. This is a once in a life time opportunity so you won't get another chance for 5 or 10 years.
Roosevelt Island via the tramway
See if there’s a concert happening. NYC has tons of venues. My favorites are Rooftop at Pier 17 and Beacon Theater.
Art museums, especially MoMA
This is probably lame as shit to people actually from New York City, but I would love to ride on the Staten Island ferry. Every time I see people riding on it, it seems so pleasant. Bonus points if you're a fan of Wu-Tang.
I have friends who live there for over a decade and still go on the boat ride to drink a beer.

Would I say "Yo I'm walkin' here!" or "Yo! I'm walkin' over here's!". Are both acceptable or is one more formally impolite
The transit museum in Brooklyn is actually really cool if you're a subway nerd. I spent hours there.
