You get isakaied into a communist world.

You begin to live happily, deatomize, become connected to the community, contribute to your society, make friends and social bonds previously unimaginable.

But... As time passes... You notice something strange. Strange about the way the people talk about their world, about the way they interact with each other, about their plans for the future. It's unavailable to you at the moment, but you can feel that something is deeply wrong.

Slowly, over time, you come to the grim realization. You are indeed living in a communist world. But it is a communist tendency slightly different than your preferred one.

    It drives you mad.

You are now deemed the world's only rightist.

I wake up, dazed and confused.

That truck as speeding, didn't stop at the red light.

Red. Shit, there's a lot of red here. Is it blood? Am I dying?

No, not blood. A flag? A red flag? Where the fuck am I?

I sit up and feel my forehead. No blood, no pain, no wounds. Huh.

I look around and see a clean city street, no advertising, and some curious onlookers starting to gather around.

A kindly young man approaches me. "Comrade, are you hurt? You seem unwell."

      Comrade? Holy shit...

"Let's get you to the hospital" he says, helping me up.

I try to protest, saying that I have no insurance. He looks puzzled, not sure what "insurance" even is. Must be a language barrier.

The hospital is just around the corner. It's a modern glass building with a beautiful garden. The facade is crowned by a red flag with a huge face emblazoned on it.

      Trotsky. It's fucking Trotsky.

I die for a second time.

My sight begins to fade as I'm carted across the terrace.

I see a brilliant steel statue at the center of a fountain. Trotsky holds an ice pickaxe defiantly towards the sky, glinting in the sunlight.

In his other hand, he holds something lower, near to his belt line. It's round and sturdy. A human head. The man has strong features and a full mustache.

I speak out, "Comrade... The head... Tell me it belongs to Nietzsche.... GOD TELL ME IT'S NIETZSCHE"

The central conflict, I assume, would be confronting all your learned reactionary tendencies from living under modern capitalism your whole life.

I think I know which one you are referring to but I can't find it

if anyone wants to have a go this is what I remember

      wake up on subway/train

notice no ads , bunch of other utopian stuff

bearded man sitting next to you seems familiar

he says "I told you it was inevitable comrade"

      start crying

        I found it! :marx-hi:

you walk out onto the street

        people are milling around happily

buildings are no longer designed with imposing security features

violence has all but disappeared thanks to sudden material abundance

people are no longer forced to purchase a beverage just to sit down and talk in public spaces

the architecture has been redesigned to be more accommodating for pedestrians

        seating areas seem widely available

people sit and talk among themselves

even strangers seem capable of breaking into conversation easily

you feel as if you've wandered into a massive public museum or some other noncommercial public space

but even this comparison doesn't feel quite right

you realize you've never been to a place quite like this

you decide to take the train to your old home

you're confused as you reach the train station and find the turnstiles have disappeared

        you walk in unobstructed

the screen indicates that your train should be there shortly

you assume that you've arrived just on time

you then realize that the track has been expanded massively

automated maglev trains glide silently in and out of the station every thirty seconds

no advertisements are pasted on the station's walls

these have been replaced with noticeboards informing commuters of gatherings or work opportunities

commuters occupy themselves with tablet-style devices

unlike in the capitalist era they do not appear to be distracting themselves with facebook or games

some seem to be reading complex scientific and philosophical treatises

unburdened by mind-numbing hours of work they have the time and energy to expand their minds

others seem to be watching live-feeds of independently produced entertainment

total automation has apparently allowed people to spend their time more creatively

you ask a fellow commuter about recent events

        you ask about unemployment

        you ask about financial collapse

        you ask about austerity

you ask about the wars in the Middle East

you ask about the possibility of inter-imperial conflict

        he smiles wisely

"Those are all things of the past now, comrade."

he speaks with a thick German accent

his snowy white beard makes him look like a professional Santa Claus

his fashion sense seems anachronistic in this futuristic era

it is then that you realize who it is

        it's Marx

you begin to sob as you feel a burden lift from your body

a weight disappears that you didn't even know was there

Marx places a paternal hand on your shoulder and then draws you into a loving embrace

"I told you it was inevitable, comrade."

What would you do there? For story reasons it would have to be something that has you visiting new places and talking to new people frequently. Adventurer and traveling merchant are common choices but that obviously wouldn't work here. Would there be gonzo journalists under communism?

I would be a traveling ecologist that would travel to different towns to educate people on how to properly live with their environment and appreciate their local fauna and flora.

Or I dunno, dog mover. Need a dog moved from town A to town B?

That would be so cool, just going on adventures with dogs and making sure the puppers make it safely from A to B. Dream job except the saying bye part.
