I haven't really played any games for a few years now, outside of a few hours of Subnautica here and there. My partner and I kind of want to play it on the TV while cuddled up in bed. Is the PS4 version of the game worth it, or is the PC version of the game completely superior?
My only advice is resist the urge to save scum, at least for your first playthrough. Often the result of failing a check is just as interesting as succeeding at it.
Some checks are actually better for you if you fail. The game introduces this concept pretty early on with

I managed to blunder my way into like the only check in the game that can actually cause a game over, and trust me you'll know if you're near it

I don't mean don't save often, I just mean don't reload a save just because you failed a check or made a mistake.
On the contrary, i recommend save editing your stats to max, so you get to see pretty much everything on a single playthrough, minus failures and vision quest stuff.

the bits in the sacred and terrible air are like a fine wine to me. The introduction to the song Helvetti in chapter 18 is also pretty good but I didn't start going back to laugh until after I'd finished the whole book :zigi:

Main advice is to not worry about “how well” you are doing. It kind of feels like an isometric rpg at first and getting to choose skills could put you in even more of a dnd or rpg mindset, but you will get to the end of the game no matter what stats you choose, no matter how poorly you do in rolls. Your conversations are the combat and every skill will help you win SOME of them. Treat it more like an interactive book and just go for the ride.
Edit: okay there are a few times you can lose but I hose scenarios are immensely interesting or entertaining so just save often and go into those scenarios too.
The pc version has controller support so as long you can get it displayed on your bedroom TV you're good
AFAIK both versions of the game are the same, though there is the older version of the game with the old voice actors and the newer one with the pros, but I don't think the older version is easy to buy anymore.
the new version is superior imo, additional content, full voice acting including narration (which the original did not have)
