I mean, this was the covid elections; he wasn't the guy telling people to take hydroxycloroquine for covid so he won by default.

Progressive? In the sense he's a TYT (radical liberal alternative media) style lib, sure for what that's worth. Based? Not by either definition as far as I know.

And to be clearhe had a stroke,he wasn't bonked on the head. Also there is some skeletons in his closet from during his time as mayor as others have mentioned before, it was foolish to get overly excited about this guy from the beginning.

Not really. His claim to fame that got him on Colbert back in the day was "revitalizing" a dying town as mayor that made all the libs think he was a socialist. But really he was just kind of a vibes based chaotic neoliberal without any real ideology. Lot of questionable stuff in his history.

He was a radlib who was ok I guess on some domestic issues. More in the mold of like Jamaal Bowman or something.

But he was always a big time Israel supporter, I remember the general gist of people describing him is “progressive but pretty bad on Israel”

"Pretty bad on Israel" is kinda the assumption I made about 99% of US politicians and then the genocide started and I was like "Holy fuck I had no idea how bad "bad" was."

People thought he was cool because he insists on dressing like your suburban brother in law while serving in congress

The funniest turn of events the universe could give us is that a second bonk to the head turns him into the most hardcore Maoist

"You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

:fetterman: So, since I didn't die again, does that mean I have to get even more fasc? 'Cause, y'know, damn..."

It was like being a posadist back then. Doesn't matter to anyone until the aliens show up talking about "we are here for the water and gold"

The CIA implants a chip in Fetterbrain to control his actions but the chip malfunctions because it was designed by Elon Musk and he ends up joining Hamas. I think this has potential to be a solid screenplay.

Hitting politicians on the head still sounds like a better plan for political improvements than voting for the lesser evil
