Hello other users of Hexbear. I decided to make an account on here after being a lurker going back to the days when the subreddit existed. It was reading the posts made by users over the years that I became a leftist, as I found their criticism of the status quo resonate with me (the memes are pretty funny too). I just want to make friends with like-minded people online after being isolated for so long.
Thank you for your response. It is good to feel welcome here.
He may be a hundred fucking years old, but he still has his wits.
And reaction time. Pretty good reflexes for a centenarian.
Yeah, I saw a lot of jokes like that while lurking, whenever people tried to post in such a stilted manner. I'm just nervous because I do not really post online in general. I just read the comments.
don't sweat it, typing is akin to writing, and writing is a skill that takes time and practice to improve in your own distinct way
In my experience, my own distinct way has been stilted rather stilted and formal. 😅
That's actually rather endearing and unique, so rock out to your own tempo dude!
Excited to have another person to join in on the 200+ comment threads of debates and arguing
Idk what you're doing here as a leftist because it's all liberals here, but welcome
Hi! #1 thing to remember about Hexbear is that all slaveowners deserve death.
No. It is a reference to Red Star Over China. I had the name in my head for a while.
It was a book about the CPC written by an American journalist who was able to interview the party leaders about their experiences during the Long March. It was published in the late 30s and was popular with Western audiences. I replaced star with sunshine to make it Florida themed.
We finally found the one true leftist. I knew if we kept shit posting they would show up.
That's great because we do be recycling bits around here.
I greatly appreciate them. They have grown on me a bit after lurking for so long.
