I just had a thought about how in a few century from now, some asshat in a discussion on 21st history is going to talk about how they shouldn't judge 21st century fascists too harshly "because they're products of their time" and adds that "you'll be a fascist too if you were born back then". And I'm just really pissed off by myself now.

I hope when Evo comes back, the first thing he does is go John Wick on the guys that ran over his dog with a tank.

Under normal circumstances I would agree, and there's a lot they can do re fixing the military to prevent this from happening again, but any sort of attempt to destroy the opposition will only hurt the bolivian left over the long term.

The regions of the country with the most natural resources are the ones that supported Mesa the most. The US tried to get the country to split in 2 in 2008, and further suppression of opposition would make such efforts more successful.

I left it vague on purpose. I don't know what the necessary things are but I very much hope MAS/Bolivian comrades take this seriously and take aggressive action - whatever that theoretically correct course of action actually is.

Yeah of course, and they absolutely know the things I'm saying. I only know this stuff because I know some spanish and have been following their politics closely even before the coup. I just don't want western leftists to be like, Luis Arce is fucking up and screwing over Evo when he doesn't just immediately purge everyone.

Shout out to all our addict comrades; it's harder than people think. May we all get through this to be strong for the fight that is waiting.

I'm so privileged that everything seems to be moving so slow.

There are so many tents around seattle.

It's starting to get cold and wet. COVID is going to run right through these groups.

Our mayor is too busy arguing for more cops I guess.

Inexplicably, an extremely specific image comes to my mind when viewing this post.

In World War Z, there's a chapter describing how Russia fought back against the zombies. The interviewee has a wartime propaganda poster alluding to Russia literally breaking out the WWII museum pieces for the war effort. It depicts a young Russian soldier being handed down an ancient Mosin-Nagant by a Red Army veteran, captioned "Thank you, Grandfather".

So now looking at the above image I'm imagining this fucking crab thanking their crab grandfather with a human hand for this blessed Skorpion.

World War Z is liberalism the book. I loved that book so much when I was younger, just because of how different it was in it's storytelling techniques.

Y'all member the lib and conservative president who unify around science and shared duty?

Whomst member the CCP essentially just genociding their own military for no reason then getting their own govt nuked by its own soldiers?

      LMFAO at the Israeli plan.

Remember the Cuban Second Revolution? It's kinda based since it implies that Castro was still around to abdicate so he doesn't get a wall, but then apparently become some kinda ancap paradise

Oh an the North Koreans just collapse entirely and nobody dares cross the DMZ to check if there's anyone left lol

I think in hindsight one of the worst lib spit takes in the book is the German who reflects that West Germany De-Nazified effectively while East Germany didn't

I found out earlier today that my aunt helped steal Michael Jackson’s glove from the Motown Museum in Detroit in 1991. Thought that was kinda neat lol.

MJ is still her favorite artist of all time. But when she went to the museum with her friend, she convinced him that it would be cool and easy to take the glove. So they snatched it, brought it home, and took turns wearing it and doing his dance moves lol. Then they hid it in a VHS tape case for awhile until national pressure made her friend feel guilty and he gave it back.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't watch podcasts much but I put it on every week or two for a while until I finished it last week
