benefits: it makes me sleep well, makes me not ptsd dream, makes me feel fuzzy, and my mood is significantly improved, suicidal thoughts: they're toast, folks.
we're just big complex chemical reactions and sometimes all we need is a few more elements in the equation
also communism, but we take what we can get

What's it like, honestly? I'd been considering anti-anxiety meds, but honestly the anxiety is such a part of me that I can't imagine what life is like not anxious as fuck, as it's super weird and stresses me out to think about.
so my anxiety hasnt gone away just yet, been on the med for maybe a couple weeks. but i can tell its getting way better. idk, i feel very warm and a bit giddy, kinda reminds me of being a kid before i got super anxious. i just dont hesitate to do things as much / things i just couldnt do before i actually can somewhat do without freaking the fuck out. some of me not being able to do things is definitely habitual and assuming the med keeps working fine with no issues i'll have to break some bad habits caused by anxiety coping over a long period of time i think.
its been like this for me all the time the past two weeks :O i tend to be very sensitive to drugs so that might be it
senor trazodone
hopefully it holds up long term! ymmv though, antidepressants are a huge hit or miss i think. my relatives are on some completely different ones and they work for them but when i take it its like chugging 20 cups of coffee all day long... impossible to sleep
oh: and it makes my erections even more uncommon. FUCK YEAH
Glad to hear this one's working for you! I had no luck with Trazadone, but finding the right medication for any given person is really a crapshoot.
yep. hopping meds is a severely arduous task and it overloads me with suicidal thoughts every time. ive only attempted once and since starting estrogen forever ago it never occurred to me to attempt again.
Same, I take it for sleeping too and it works well for that. I have to be on a couple other meds to alleviate depression and anxiety symptoms though.
So by new you meant ooooooold, hahaha. Glad it works for you, but trazodone makes me very sleepy. It's actually used as a sleep aid pretty frequently.
yeah like i think thats the ingredient that makes it work for me. 99% of antidepressants really make me caffeinated as hell. i just take traz at night and im gucci
I got the impossible to sleep/100 cups of coffee and no erection side effects from really strong pain killers lol. Weird that certain anti-depressants have the same side effects as pain killers tbh
i mean i guess that makes sense. nerves are made out of neurons after all
I was on trazodone when I was in the hospital (two years ago) specifically for sleeping. Didn't really do much for the depression, but that very well could be because of the stress. I'm on clomipramine, a tricyclic antidepressant, for OCD now and it works great except for the side effects. I don't have to worry about a stimulating effect, though, cause my antipsychotic will knock me right out. But I'm glad you're finding a treatment that works well for you :)
When I tried antidepressants all they did was kill my libido lol. Turns out what I actually needed was my tonsils and uvula out, because they were keeping me from breathing properly during sleep. Depression cured. Glad your medication is working out for you!
wow thats kinda cool. i might look into that tbh.
question: can you deepthroat like a champ now
My gag reflex is actually a lot worse now because my uvula was literally touching the back of my tongue 24/7 before I got it taken out. I can’t brush the spot on my tongue where it used rest without dry heaving. Well worth the trade off, though.
God I'd love to yank those fuckers out of my head.
Going to look more into it now because of your post lol
Definitely worth looking into. I’m not exaggerating at all when I say that it ended an 8ish year depression. It’s been 6ish years since I got them out and I haven’t backslid.
Every anti-depressant I've ever been on took as much away from me as it gave. I've just kicked them altogether since it so zero-sum. Always happy to hear from a comrade having a better experience with it.
yeah ive tried over 20 different meds until i landed on this one... my issues are so intractable that i have to medicate
with each try id usually find out that a med did jack shit or injected 20 tons of caffeine straight into my veins. and when i come down from the meds i would get crazy suicidal, sweats, nightmares, all sorts of crazy shit. just for only being on meds for like 2 weeks
Oh my that sounds awful. I'm glad this new one seems to be working for you!
It’s nice to actually hear a success story (so far). Sometimes I think they probably won’t work for me, so I shouldn’t even try. Does it help with anxiety too?
Hot damn, that sounds great. Did you try any other medications before this one?
edit: nevermind just saw that you tried 20 others. I admire your perseverance! May it continue to help you.
