the Capitalists dont even want to give concessions to the Social Democrats (Sanders) who would let them keep their monopolies and their bourgeois state for the little price of some social programs, its almost like they want the actual socialists to gain infuence in the US

These people are so politically iliterate that they don't see a difference between Sanders and Lenin.

A week ago I would have doubted you, but after seeing that snippet from Obama's book you may be right.

You can understand perfectly well how the capitalist game is played without knowing anything about political theory or history.

They get a bird's eye view on the situation and know that their continued existence is suffering for billions. They don't necessarily know what that entails. There are plenty of bourgeois dupes that just don't care about appeasing the masses with social democracy because they think they won the cold war. To them socialism is a dead movement when in reality it's never had stronger footing.

Its not like they wanted FDR in the first place. I mean the business plot was a thing. They just tolerated him and got to work dismantling the new deal which saved their ass.

The front line workers are part of the hive mind too. If you aren't a happy little snitch or stepford wife then they hold a vote to fire you at the end of your probationary period.

Charity literally saved whole foods. The original location in Austin was flooded really badly and the town raised money to rebuild. Maybe they should have ignored Whole Foods and gave more money to other people.

I'm convinced they actually know all about what Marx et al actually wrote, they have surely read some leftist theory, else they wouldn't be so adept and consistently missing the point or being so laughably wrong all the time. They are deliberately misunderstanding the concepts in order to muddy the waters for the people that eat up liberal corporate news media.

Idk if you're up your own ass enough to be some c-suite executive your ideology isn't built off theory, it's literally just that you are successful because of how cool and good you are, and capitalism is the best at facilitating that. Basically I think you're giving too much credit to a bunch of cretins whose opinion on Marx is like "oh that Russian dictator who wants to take my toothbrush? No thanks"

I’m convinced they actually know all about what Marx et al actually wrote,

From my experience with capitalists, they know or at least immediately get most of it. The bourgeoisie are the only class in the Western world that still has a widespread class consciousness.

Problem here is that recognizing their class interests means steamrolling over our class interests.

they have surely read some leftist theory

Most haven't, or have just skimmed through a major work or two. Their insight into how capitalism works comes from a lifetime of having had a bird eye's view on the system. They're not deliberately misunderstanding these concepts, they're just viewing them from their side of the equation and are always willing to bullshit other people about how things actually work, because they intuitively realize they need our false consciousness for their gain.
