If ethical consumption exists, then let's hand-wring about things that actually materially matter, like the conflict minerals in the devices we're all using to browse this site. Anyone who thinks I'm a bad person for liking The X-Files but not for buying a smartphone from Samsung is a lib.

i like anime, but i dont make excuses for it. I just really like that fans would create and publish their own takes on existing works, even it's just porn in the end. Some made comics, some even make their own animations that eventually land them jobs. BUT MY GOD ARE THERE PARTS ABOUT IT THAT MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO TALK ABOUT!! :( Doesn't help that anime fans have become so reactionary over the years, part of that i blame by not having much presence from the left, for some obvious reasons :(

i speak super generally when i say punk, so i'll say bands like Against Me!, Thursday, Off Minor, Converge, Against All Authority, Rye Coalition, Kid Crash, Dead Kennedys, I Robot, Orchid, Nine Eleven, Melt-Banana, On The Might of Princes, Moss Icon, Ostraca, Senza, The Blood Brothers, The Locust etc. A lot of these are hardcore, screamo, and emo bands, jsyk.

I used to want a truck, badly. Hell, I even convinced myself that I needed a truck - ya know, for that one time a year I move a couch or buy some mulch.
Now? I know I don't need one, at all. But what's really interesting is that I can't even bring myself to want one. In fact, I loathe the idea of wanting a truck. All I can think about is the chuds driving around in blacked out window death machines with punisher stickers and truck nuts on the back. And I think about the cost of owning such a display of American pseudo-bougie decadence; the gas, the tires, the insurance. And to top it off, the price for these things is just fucking insane. Makes me sick just looking at the price.
Keep in mind, the truck I used to want was like a $40k toyota tundra, full size, 4 doors, backup camera, bluetooth, etc.
I could make due with an S10 or something, but I'm still throwing a mental tantrum about not getting my bougie truck so I've convinced myself to not a get a truck at all.

It's not really something I have or do but just a thought. I do like playing the lottery and thinking about being wealthy in that context. I don't think people should be able to amass much more than a few million but goddamn would I enjoy suddenly having $100M+ I sincerely would try to funnel it towards some political cause. But I think I would also be a filthy bouge at least for a little while. Just the sudden and immense release from material concerns would be intoxicating. I can really see why rich people don't want to give that shit up.
What baffles me is people who have millions and still want more. If I had millions I would live the same middle class life I have now, just with the relief of not having to work.
