Oh that's the 70 minute Star Wars review. They're talking about the four hour (Part One) reviews done Mauler and the like.

People who think just listing off things they didn't like works as criticism.

I think hbomber made like a 6 hour long response to mauler's 4 hour review and maular made like a 11 hour long response to the response

Oh wow this is terrible like RLM but bad. 4 hours of this?? Also calling your movie essay series "unbridled rage" is cringe as fuck

That 4hr Twin Peaks video actually makes a surprising amount of sense. It's one interpretation but it's well backed up.

So she doesn't punch left? I may watch it then.

Edit: I'm getting reports of tankie jabs.

I've only watched the first 12 minutes but she did joke "leftist teenagers who think Stalin did nothing wrong but Rachel Maddow is a war criminal". Imo not a big deal

Like most of her other videos, pretty good at talking about bigotry and lgbt experiences with not much socialist content (usually used as passing jokes at the expense of tankies) video is probably too long for the points she ended up making (watch at 1.75 speed) but it is pretty entertaining. Wish she was less lib but what you gonna do lol

it's an hour and a half. if you feel that she used to be good but somehow did something in a previous video that made her bad, this is just going to provide fodder for gettin angy.

I don't really have an opinion one way or another honestly she made a series of lame videos leading up to that hella cringe transtrender video and I stopped following her. Was just wondering if this had anything really offensive like that because an 1.5 hour take down of a terf sounds funny

It's ah, fine. Not great, but fine.

A bit lib, a bit "Oh woe is me teh tweet cancelling is always bad." over-sympathy but mostly some good stuff on why TERFs need an gulag and an analysis on how their hatred is often overcompensation for abuse and misogyny (note though the millions of non TERFs who've suffered through that and retained basic human empathy).

Nothing that will blow your mind if you've been reading the current trans theory being posted around here though.

Yeah I'll probably check it out, I'm a sucker for over indulgent movie length video essays. Just wanted to know if it was stupid. Like I said upthread I found a couple of her videos personally offensive so I stopped watching, she's still pretty funny though

Watched 25 minutes and I liked her analysis. The dig on tankies was weird.

Edit: I researched and decided to delete my last critique of her video.

Most new phones are water resistant. In theory you could take a iPhone 7 and dunk it in a tank of water for 30 minutes up to a depth of 1.5 meters. The iPhone 12 isn’t waterproof, but it’s very damn close. You can hate it as much as you want apple drives adoption and if the iPhone does it everyone else will be dragging out fully waterproof phones. I wish phones would just get rid of plugs at this point to further lower mechanical stress.

I think Rowling's making a new Harry Potter series or something? There was something about it on twitter yesterday

That's too bad, we're never gonna see the end of it. Regardless, pretty sure everyone knows about her crap and has made their decision on where to stand, fucking let her sink into obscurity. This also applies to Rowling.

These books won't be stories of Harry and his adventures, but they will be a factual series about the subjects he and his friends studied at Hogwarts.

The books, which will be released as short e-books, will explore the "traditional folklore and magic at the heart of the series".

Official fan site Pottermore has released the names of the books, some of which will be released at the end of June:

Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures

They're not even real books! Rowling's released this sort of thing before, back when the original books were still being published. Not that I would've read new Harry Potter books anyway since Rowling outted herself as a transphobe, but I still think it's dumb. It's not like the lore or internal history of Harry Potter is interesting anyway, it's all pretty clearly made up as she went along without much thought put into it. Which is fine, they're children's books, but it's been fourteen years since a HP book came out, ten years since the last original series movie came out, and even little kids don't like the terrible new movies. Who is this for? Who is excited about this? Fucking Harry Potter and the Tree of Nothing.

I kinda feel like someone who's more in it for contra herself is the ideal audience. Still watching but there really isn't much so far that other parts of breadtube or twitter in general haven't rehashed a billion times.
