Vivid memories of the primaries last year and talking to these lib regulars that'd come in every day. The boyfriend was a Bernie supporter and she was a Warren supporter. They asked me to be the "tie breaker" and asked who I was voting for. When I said Bernie the boyfriend did an audible "yeah!" and fist pumped while the girlfriend sighed and crossed her arms and asked me why.

I explained why and then ended that basically I think electoralism is a spook and when I just came out and told her I was a communist she said, "Oh, you're one of those people." I followed up and asked her why she supported Warren. Was it her policies or what about her platform did she prefer over Bernie? Her response was, "I don't really care I just want to see a woman in office."

    My face: :doomjak:

Political campaigns are very good places to get drugs off of in my experience. Bought Weed off of Bernie and Beto people and heard one of the guys gave out adderall.

Ugh the caucus site I went to was much worse than this. Bunch of Mayo Pete stans, some old fucks for Biden, and one shithead who supported fucking Bloomberg. And one guy who was pro-Bernie (but also pro-Steyer lmao) but couldn't support Bernie because he was literally the only one.

that mint green / blue was so bad for political messaging.

Like a soccer team maybe, but it just seems so bland for the context it was used in.

Tbh I think it's good that this happened? Like it crushed the electoralism out of most of us in a major way. It sucks that it made us feel bad but like I think it was positive growth overall

And ofc shout-out to the hardliners who were correct all along :sankara-salute: I don't know how MLs are always right but it's like fuckin magic

Absolutely. The campaign did a tremendous job of demonstrating just how nakedly corrupt the whole process is. Millions of people were involved in supporting the campaign and now millions hold a personal grudge against the party.

The contrast between sold out stadiums reciting Assata Shakur and the fucking BlueMAGA KHive scum we ended up with is enough to induce whiplash, and liberal identity politics wouldn't be in such shambles without having that to compare it to.

I frequently think about how Bernie was probably the most unifying candidate in recent history. I live in the Midwest, do you know how many lifelong Republican voters here fucking loved Bernie and were going to vote for him over Trump? He didn't talk down to us and ignore us like Democrats and he wanted to actually help us unlike Republicans. If Bernie was the nominee in the general I think the Dems would've swept the floor in the house and senate.

But now all these midwestern Bernie supporters went back to Trump because the Democratic party's meddling was extremely blatant.

Yeah if I'm honest, regardless of how dumb it is, I will 100% get super invested in the next democratic primaries.
