I notice when I read it about the media they write article about everyone in a while, but then forget about for a while. shouldn't it be really concerning lots of young men are going to the far right, and the issues that could come from that years down the line? There is also plenty of places that these men can get radicalized that isn't even technically political like MGTOW, Red Pill, and Incels.

I recently wrote on the commodification of gender and I beleive this to be a by product of that.

When masculinity is commodified young men are alienated in a way the leaves them susceptible to the allure of strong /s fascist tendencies and conspiracy theories to make sense of the constant state of exploitation and alienation.

I personally think that raising up vulnerability and empathy will reverse that but there is no profit in community building.

Gender roles being a fuck plays into things as well, or at least from personal experience. Considering certain traits either masculine or feminine. I've seen a lot of just replacing traits that are seen as masculine with the seen as feminine equivalent being done or encouraged a lot and it seems both like a cop out on everyone's part at times. I'm probably explaining this badly.

This could have very easily been me and honestly I don't even know what to do. Probably an unpopular opinion but the left needs more (positive, anti-toxic) masculine content.

I'm kind of surprised that I didn't end up being an incel. I was perfectly set up for it: I was a male teenager who played video games, browsed reddit constantly, was not conventionally attractive, was rejected by some girls in high school. I'm pretty sure the only reason I didn't become an incel is that when I tried to browse 4chan for the dank memes, the UI scared me away so I never ended up finding /pol/ or other shite like that.

For me it was my personal method for trying to break out of my conservative religious upbringing where I assumed everything that didn't line up with what I currently believed was actually correct.

Luckily fascism has a lot in common with Christian fundamentalism so I ended up just going lib and drinking heavily until my love for unions drove me to being a communist.

Not just that, if they come to my anti-racism conference for $599.99 each year they can atone for their sins racism. They cannot unracist themselves any other way!

I hate liberal identity politics, without class analysis it becomes a kind of religion.

Unless this is a bit, this post is :LIB: shit. You can't make the horse drink but you can bring the horse to water. Agitprop and education, planting seeds in the heads of working-class libs and chuds whose material interests ultimately align with ours but are trapped by false consciousness, is the duty of any responsible Marxist. Some of them eventually listen, or that seed you planted years ago germinates, when their lives turn for the worse.

these are just mentally ill or inherently bad individual outliers and not representative of any trend of systemic problem because trends and systemic problems don't exist wow stop with your conpsiracy nonsense. harry potter is the best and taught me SO MUCH about how the world works.

I really do think a dude bro left tuber would be helpful. Not someone like Vaush. Someone that's either into lifting or fighting. Young men are drawn to men that appear dangerous.

Eddie Liger Smith, his youtube is midwestern marx. DIII All-American wrestler, so that's lifting and fighting, he's actually educated in left wing stuff without being a pretentious asshole, very positive masculine figure (jacked, actively calls out toxic masculinity)

Left wing Jordan Peterson too tbh. A "wash your dick"-to-communism pipeline to counter the "wash your dick"-to-fascism one. Reduce the number of rules to life so people choose it, for less reading.

Idk I'd start a self-help grift that points people towards leftism

Chapo (both the actual podcast and the former subreddit) were arguably this for the something-awful/weird-twitter/4chan trolls and shitposters. How else would a grotesque shock image like PPB have become a mainstay?

I think a big part of it is admitting that mainstream conservatism and right-wing politics in the United States (be it elected officials or media figures) are either easy gateways to the far right, if not outright fascism, or they are already there and they inspire other people to this path.

As a result, it easier to just say that certain behaviors and thoughts are legitimate political thought, rather than say that there is a significant amount of mainstream conservatives who are like that.
