I haven’t listened to the Dollop yet but I assumed it would be more political than the West Wing because it was about history instead of a bad tv show.

He's done a lot of topics on labour-related history and people familiar to the left, but I always thought he was a social democrat or something because the focus of the show is making his cohost laugh at the jokes in the history. I've never watched an episode of The West Wing, but West Wing Thing is one of my regular listens because it's Dave Anthony as a screenwriter with another screenwriter dissecting the Spectacle of cultural liberalism and contrasting the utopianism of the show with the horror of Clinton/Obama/Bush-era politics. The show ended up teaching a generation of liberals how to think, and then when those liberals became staffers they thought of themselves in those roles as tomorrow's liberals might see themselves as an Avenger. As media critique it's on par with Citations Needed. He promo'd that one on chapo and on it he seems more like an ML.

Oh I started listening to The West Wing Thing after hearing about it on Bad Faith Pod (I just can’t get into Chapo, Virgil is the only one I like).

Was very happy to replace Behind the Bastards with something actually leftist when I wanted something funnier than Citations Needed.

Dave is definitely a communist, Josh seems more Democratic socialist or social democrat. I’m not surprised that The West Wing Thing is political, I’m just surprised that the Dollop is less political since it’s an inherently more political subject.
