Cornell West and Sarah Silverman are smoking the same shit that makes your tweets incoherent.

I love honest unhinged tweets from politicians. This gave me a chuckle and brighten my day. It is legitimately entertaining, probably the reason why so many people were entertained by Trump's twitter account as well.

We follow politicians on social media for entertainment. Imagine unironically following standard politician like Obama, AOC, Bernie, Biden, DeSanctis, etc. they all so goddamn boring

Can we just have one high profile third party candidate that isn't a crank?

I don't think Ralph Nader was a crank. Kind of a dull boring technocrat and a liberal, but he's otherwise normal.

At the very least Nader is responsible for two inarguably good things, even if they are just weak attempts to convince capital to be normal for once: nutrition labels on food and car engines being in the front

Oh right he was the shoulder seatbelts guy too

Like it's good that they exist but it's a bandaid for the car situation, pretty much sums up his accomplishments

My parents voted for him lol. I've finally convinced them they did nothing wrong. Blowback Podcast helped.

In my younger and more liberal days I knocked on doors for that guy. Not the most regrettable thing I've ever done. My friends all voted for Obama

I have no proof and don't know where they say this, but a comrade on Hexbear said Gloria la Riva once took offense to being called a cis woman during an interview. That would make me question why she's in a leadership role in the first place

La Riva isn’t the candidate this time, at least. But yeah, I remember hearing some sus things about here from a comrade here, too.

Not to mention he's got a blue check so he could go over the character limit to be able to write this roller coaster.

You can't even be mad at this. It's poetry.

In fact, I'm already imagining a guy getting mad at this, and I'm getting mad at them.

Harlan Crow - as in Clarence Thomas's completely non-influential benefactor??

Why would Crow give to West's campaign? Is he just hoping to have a spoiler for the dems or what?

Could be one of several things but it's not unheard of for politicians to get donations from seeming ideological opponents:

      • trying to get West to be a spoiler like how Richard Egan donated money to Ralph Nader in 2004 (Egan was a George W. Bush campaign donor and Bush's ambassador to Ireland)
      • simply wanting influence, like how a lot of billionaires will donate equally to Republicans and Democrats
      • an attempt to torpedo West's leftist credentials because campaign donations are public, and taking money from a conservative rich guy is a bad look for a leftist candidate. Kind of like a scheme Roger Stone pulled where he donated money to one of Nixon's republican rivals in the name of a socialist organization
