Personally I need to sit down and dedicate my attention to it in order to truly absorb/remember it.

What are you trying to do while listening? It's probably just an adhd thing, but I can't just sit down and listen to a podcast, I have to be doing something with my hands. I listen to podcasts while I'm sewing, doing aquarium maintenance, and cleaning/doing chores and I feel like I retain most of what it happening.

Yeah, idk if I have ADHD but same. Even if I'm just walking or doing the dishes, I need to do something else or I can't pay attention to the podcast and my mind starts to wander.

Literally me and I got diagnosed two weeks ago lmao. I have to be doing something while I listen to podcasts, audiobooks or even music. It’s the only way I get chores done.

same, and a first degree relative just got diagnosed so i'm wondering if i have the same. i can't just sit and listen to a pod, and i can't just do a long menial task without having something on in the background

Similarly, if I dont do something else while I'm listening to a podcast I retain none of it

Cleaning the house and podcasts go great together. My old job stocking shelves at a grocery store too. Basically anything that doesn’t require thought or communication

    That's just it. I don't.

Depends on what you're doing. I can listen and absorb things while cooking, cleaning or training. I can't deal well with it when it comes to video games or writing though, then it is mostly background noise.

I usually play a game while I listen to pods, they're not enough stimulation to demand my full attention so I just zone in for jokes and stuff

I have ADHD and so my brain is wired to require constant stimulation. In order to focus (and I mean this is a big requirement for me) I either need music, podcasts or videos to get through most tasks, especially mundane ones. For podcasts if I'm just doing basic work like cooking, cleaning or desk work it's easy for me to pay attention to what's going on in a podcast. If I'm talking to someone though I usually do have to pause unless I'm just listening to some music.

I have narcolepsy .. and possibly ADHD and if I can't do something with my hands while listening to a thing I'll fall asleep by default. I do thing 2 because if I don't I won't be able to listen to thing 1.

to echo the other comments i cant rly just sit still and listen. I need to be walking, solving a relatively easy jigsaw puzzle, fixing something to eat, playing vidya, etc. kudos to you tho if you can, i just dont have that great of an attention span. Maybe in my younger days itd be possible lol

According to scientific research, multitasking is a lie that liberals tell themselves because they can't admit they're actually bad at both of things they're doing. Stop multitasking you liars!

I just sort of vibe with the energetic vibration of Felix bits and the rest of the podcast is the static between Felix mashing discreet concepts together.
