  • Given that there’s family relation and a shared living situation… if nobody has mentioned it yet. Just know when to back off.

    I know that sounds weird, but this isn’t a “one and done” posting situation. There will be other opportunities to pick back up a conversation/debate/argument later when everybody is calmer/rested/in a better mood.

    As YeForPrez2020 said, start at a point of common ground.

    Ultimate strategy will be attrition. When a conversation gets into a heated topic, make some points/counter points and know when emotions are getting high enough that everybody needs to disengage completely, move to some neutral topics that won’t push anybody into making poor arguments or mentally shutting down.
