"Bernie's supporters have been very, very damaging to him, and it's really frustrating to see and experience. They don't realize how influential they are. It's frustrating to feel like they are hurting him," Ocasio-Cortez said in the midst of the 2020 primary, according to the book. "I feel like Warren is scooping up LGBT, progressives, women, and progressives of color because of how they isolate."

margot-disgust pickle-liz

She also worried that the behavior of Sanders's supporters were "forcing an unnecessary choice between class analysis and race analysis" through their "behavior, not so much policy."

Ocasio-Cortez made those comments as she mulled whether to endorse Sanders's 2020 campaign, even though she had worked as an organizer on his 2016 campaign.

All the exit polling I saw said otherwise, Bernie won all groups(but especially poc and queer people) below 55, while biden swooped up the Olds both black and white, and Warren was left scraping by on a fraction of the college cracker professional set.

Yes, because the "BernieBro" thing was mostly an online thing. In other words, that was just very online Hillary/Biden/Warren people crying because young people cared more about another candidate. But it was made into this huge issue by the mainstream media, I am betting that it received more TV time in 2016 and 2020 than the Iraq war and climate change combined.

            Just everything is so odd:

Jerseys hung up on wall via plastic hangers

Could they not afford a cheap poster frame?

            Spiderman and Pan movie posters

Not my first choice, but sure

DVD cases hung on the wall

What the actual fuck. Let's see what's here: capeshit, sure; random action slop (Meg, Hobbs & Shaw, Equalizer 2), uhhh alright; PETER RABBIT, wot.

MLM poster on the wall (It Works)

            tito-laugh

            Busted old couches

One guy who's getting a haircut just randomly near the exit

I was gonna say, every barbershop I've been in has had the barber chairs lined up, facing a wall with a mirror on it. Not in the middle of the room, on a rug, surrounded by sofas.

Working a bit during college doesn't making someone working class either, nor does being "poor" during college and eating ramen make one poor. These are basically just mini-poverty tourisms and a hazing period for the middle class, not legitimate class differences. The precarity doesn’t exist, they have safety nets to fall back on (drop out and live with their parents at their huge house).

God damn does it ever wind me up hearing people talk about how they “struggled” in uni cause they had to eat ramen in their dorm or something. Mf you have rich parents and no student loan debt, there was no struggle. These people have zero concept of how it feels to be on the precipice of destitution with no one to fall back on.

Poverty is when I'm afraid to ask my parents for a couple thousand dollars, because they'll ask me what I'm spending it on and I don't want to admit that half The money they give me goes to alcohol and drugs.

Yeah in the middle of the 2020 primary there was definitely discussion of Warren getting polite Bernie hand-me-downs. I can't blame anyone for "feeling" like that during the midst of 2020 - there was a concentrated media effort to make that case and propaganda/advertising actually do work. It turns out, real people didn't actually behave that way though. If aoc is still concerned about that now or anytime after Warren washed out then she's a dumb ass but who cares if an electoral politician was aware of and in some way responded to electoral political punditry in 2020

So she believed the media hype about Warren during the primaries. AOC's peak popularity was during the Trump years when being a snarky Twitter reply guy got you attention. Early interviews after her win revealed how big of a lib she was with how she defended Obama and allowed herself to be restrained just by having a fellow Puerto Rican congresswoman talk to her.

She was kind of promising early on with the Green New Deal and fiery speeches, but Pelosi putting the muzzle on and the January 6 insurrection was all it took for her to shut up and sit down. Now she gets ratio'd by Elon on Twitter and continues to have terrible foreign policy takes.

She's the type of American liberal poc that is all race issues at the most shallow level and will talk a big game about economics while continuing to play the neoliberal game behind the scene.
