Look, just because Portugal and Spain fumbled the bag doesn't mean they aren't colonizers.

I'm guessing the meme was made by an American. Dutch influence isn't as strong in the US as it is in the Caribbean. Also some Americans weirdly view the Portuguese and Spanish as "white-passing" poc.

Letting Scotland off while getting rid of Wales is also very strange behaviour. But that is just yanks.

The thing I have trouble understanding is what makes Italy worse than a plethora of coubtries still there. Columbus I guess, but he was being bankrolled by Spain.

Hell if we're doing this. Why aren't Scotland considered guilty for the British empire. The Scottish composed a disproportionate part of the British army. And Scotland joined the union for access to the slave trade

because it was made by an american whose only understanding of anything is through memes. you can tell by the fact that england and wales are both removed but scotland isn't. it's not because they're super woke and recognise wales's role in the british empire - otherwise scotland wouldn't be left alone. it's because they don't even know wales exists. same reason spain and the netherlands aren't removed. no actual historical understanding just pure vibes.

I've daydreamed about an alt history where Germany was replaced entirely with a shallow sea, maybe 4 meters average depth, and with lots of archipelagos scattered through out, kind of like a north Europe Mediterranean.
