It's liberal catnip in the US. The president constantly panders to the right while calling leftists dumb children. He goes on 5 minute rants about how the conservatives are wrong and it ends with them saying "golly gee Mr. President! When you put it like that!".
Theres also a massive amount of mysoginy oozing from every pore of the male leads.
There are numerous Washington insiders today that site the show as their inspiration for getting into politics. But it gets worse. For 8 years, self proclaimed mega fans of the show ran the White House.
