I think it's an important theoretical evolution. If everyone is beating up on one person it's no fun. You want roughly equal sides if you're going to have a spirited brawl.
If we aren't having struggle sessions that means at best we are interpreting theory dogmatically with no concern for the changes in conditions which have occurred since it was written and now. The world is incredibly complex and nobody can see the whole picture. It is important to have our assumptions challenged.
They give me the same dopamine hit as sorting by controversial on Reddit. I love them. 💯😍
I enjoy the joke ones. Sometimes the organic ones are, well, not really enjoyable but still worthwhile. Not so cool when it's clearly someone just starting shit.
I like them when its heated and good faith, and I can learn by reading along and looking into it myself, but too often they get nasty and cruel, devolve completely from discussion to egging someone on while trading insults
I find that if you don't actively participate, they're very entertaining and often informative.
I enjoy reading them but I get mad bitchy when I get into them so I try to avoid it.
