Who the fuck do you think you'll be fighting in your hypothetical war, staving off the supposed tyranny of the government? The USDA?

Fucking bootlickers.

Every time I have to deal with one, I just ask them "who will take your guns". Tell me the specific group of individuals that will come and take your guns if ordered to. Point out who the state sends to persecute people and then explain how the same people who had those same jobs under Obama won't have them after Trump. The furthest I've gotten with any of them is saying that nobody will take their guns because they'll shoot them all first. So blue lives matter but they also don't matter as much as personal property which they won't take because... all.. lives... matter?

edit: except... the... black lives that... don't matter and the... well those blue lives they'll shoot to defend their right to bear arms against... against the government they worship. Aw hell skeeter.

With both test libertarians I'm able to speak to without yelling, they refuse to answer that question. It's just a dozen different ways to use guns as a stand-in for masculinity as they have a valiant last stand against X. However, X cannot be a blue life because they matter and it cannot be any life because they all matter but it can be a black life because they don't matter because all lives matter, and during that last stand they can't hit the houses across the street because damaging private property is domestic terrorism which proves that black lives and all lives don't matter except mine.

what happens if you just tell them the cops will be the ones coming for their guns?

So the conversation is a minefield inside a labyrinth which is simultaneously confronting both the Fox News and Facebook news feeds. They have canned responses for everything and weasel their way out of any kind of association with something that they think I will perceive as negative. Libertarians are fundamentally cowards who want to hole up in a bunker and shoot black people so the conversation is like:

Me: Obviously the cops will be the ones taking your guns. You hate the ATF as much as I do, right? They're federal police as are the National Parks Service police used in riot control and now the same Bureau of Prisons that literally took away all of your constitutional rights and freedoms as secret police. The police that unfairly arrested you for a crime they did not investigate properly because they're bad at their job and that's the entire argument of BLM, they're the guys who will take your guns. / Them: Nobody is going to take my guns. Here's a justification of why actually the right-wing is going to achieve the libertarian ideal where nobody can take my guns, or here's a scenario in which I the big man with all of my big guns kill anyone who tries to take them. I desperately need you to believe I'm still masculine so here is my Jon Wick scene instead of naming who will be taking my guns.

Me: Antifa isn't really an organisation. It's just opposition to fascism. My grandfather was antifa during the war. I'm antifa and morally ground that in both the preamble to the declaration of independence or the military oath we all three took to uphold the constitutional amendments under threat by the government you hated four years ago. / Them: Conspiracy theory about what they think socialism, socialist-aligned groups, and democrats are

Me: Sure all lives matter, but black people aren't saying that only their lives matter. It's not a supremacist thing to counter a supremacist thing. If you think all lives matter and black people are saying that the state doesn't think their lives matter, wouldn't it be morally consistent to fight for them until their lives matter as much as everyone else's? / Them: They're saying blue lives don't matter when they fight them and that all lives don't matter when they destroy small businesses.

Me: Sure but that's really just racist propaganda if you think about it. Here's reasons why. / Them: I'm not racist. Here is a list of every black person I know and I am courteous to everyone I meet like a normal person.

Even if I get a point into their head, it's negated in ten minutes by the first thing they see on Facebook. They won't do the follow-up reading to understand the ideas or engage with me about them. The degree of counterrevolutionary radicalisation is so extreme that one was convinced Antifa was about to burn down a court house in some rural county we don't even have an SRA member in. I had to talk him down from driving around with a car full of guns to provoke antifa into trying to rob him because he had heard they were lynching anyone they saw driving a truck. The other is determined that he will die to protect our very small, one-street town from antifa. God help antifa if they rob our taco bell or the bad coffee shop.

When they found out that the real job of cops is keeping their "muh property" values high and brutalizing minorities.

This is spot on. Show me a white suburbanite who supports the cops and the 2A, and I'll show you someone who thinks a lot about how hordes of scary black people are just waiting to ransack their McMansion...

Depends on the 2A type, honestly. The 2A fans who fantasize about murdering someone who breaks in are typically cop bootlickers; the ones who love the founding fathers and dream of overthrowing the government one day despise cops, especially federal ones.

    I blame country music.

I think 2A freaks always liked country, even in the 80's and 90's when the government was killing far-right crazies and they hated cops and the government for it.

But I think 20 years of the government letting white nationalism fester uninterrupted while country went commercial and started praising cops means they just love their cops.

The cops aren't going to be shooting the white 2A guys. Look at what has already been happening during protests, why did you assume this would be the case?
