I mean, let’s be fair, half the dorks here probably have some 1/3 written SciFi novel saved on their laptop about a future where communism works perfectly.

Not that I’m speaking from experience...

Regardless of how you chop down this stupid fucking argument they just repeat it. Makes me go mad.

When someone makes a bullshit idealist argument you respond with a bullshit idealist argument, because they can neither be proved or disproved anyway. Like tell them that communism is human nature because families existed before capitalism and families share their resources or some other nonsensical argument like that. Basically beat them with their own idealism until they have to resort to using materialism

Except in this case it's actually a good point. Humans evolved as nomadic troop primates. The concept of owning land and accumulated wealth is alien to our biological nature, an artefact of social not evolutionary development.

I usually go with “people have been murdering forever, yet we don’t promote murder. Why do we promote and reward greed?”

idk why people say the USSR didn't work. It lasted for 74 years and was a world superpower for about the last 46 years of its life.

Communism will wok, because I made up a story where it is the natural endpoint of human societal progression. (This is called “theory”)

Maybe the most dumbfounding argument I’ve heard to combat Communism “I went to a communist summer camp one time and the workers went to their own sleeping quarters as the leaders decided how things would be ran and didn’t include the workers.” That’s it.

My University is catholic and its law school is renouned my country as the best in academic terms, but one of the most bougie/conservative faculties here and my god they try to lobotomize you against communism in every single way. I think there hasn't been a single course where the professor doesn't make a communist strawman and my mates blindly believe it. I feel like when you're 12 years old and think that your school exploding would be the happiest day of your life
