Cuba : 10k Cases, 137 deaths total

Vietnam : 1,4k cases, 35 deaths total

Laos : 41 cases, 0 deaths

China : 86k cases, 4.6k deaths

USA : 17 million cases, 315k deaths and growing

EU : 21 million cases, 375k deaths, with France, Italy, Spain and the UK making up more than half of these. Also about to grow because muh Christmas.

But trust me bro, capitalism isn't a fucking genocidal system bro. Forcing people to work during a pandemic is totally cool bro, think of the economy bro. Oh yea, and western economies have collapsed too, so whatever the future is, it'll be Chinese.

Bruh I did the math and socialist states only account for about 0.28% of global COVID deaths even though they account for about 20% of the global population, fucking absurd

Vietnam blew the doors off the building and there was like one story on CNN. They were contact tracing in January and were sending people to military barracks to quarantine (three hots and a cot, baby). They had literally ZERO cases when we were all jerking off about flattening the curve and leaving water out for delivery people. Unfortunately their economy needs so much tourism they had to let snot-nosed Westerners waddle back into the country to do redbull and vodka shots on their gorgeous beaches. They are still beating the shit out of covid. No stories about it in western media.

Shoutout to the neoliberal ghouls in Ireland who let the the country go from <10 cases a day in summer to 400 a day now, and 700 today, because they were too busy giving themselves pay rises to pay student nurses or close the schools during the second wave. Also shoutout to the DUP in Northern Ireland for refusing to take a co-operative, all Ireland approach and letting us lockdown as an island. Every death is your fault, ghouls. :ira:

I wrote a paper on Vietnam being epic on covid back in June when the first person died. Glad to see they kept it under control. You ever watch Luna Oi?

I don't watch her regularly, but god, she's pretty good. I wish Hakim and her made a collab. Also, I wonder if I should leave for Cuba or Vietnam in the near future.

Like, I don't even fucking know how to process this. We'll be dealing with this fucking pandemic for years now, because not only we refused to help China when it started, but also we refused to keep things locked down for an additional month, while providing ample masks for everyone. Also, it doesn't help 50% of the population will refuse getting the vaccine.

      :agony-limitless:

Hard not to be jokerfied at this point. Oh well guess it's time to pick up another hobby to distract myself.

Btw, if anyone wants their cooking knives sharpened let me know, I've gotten pretty good at it.

Meanwhile in France they decided to lighten the lockdown a lot a few weeks ago and then even more 6 days ago, for "the economy during christmas". As a result, many indicators that were successfully down since the second lockdown are now, what a fucking surprise, going back up. And everyone is moving across the country for the holidays. Gonna make for a fun January.

the same death proportion as the US

I think it's more accurate to estimate cases from deaths in a country that 1. has universal care, and 2. didn't overwhelm their hospital system, like France or Germany. The USA and Italy both probably map particularly poorly to the situation in China.
