I know its been said many times already, but I just wanna thank the mods for making it.

After CTH got banned I got really depressed (unexpectedly for me). I had to subscribe to r/DankLeft (lame) and r/okbuddycapitalist (not big enough), even started listening to the podcast.

Now I'm so happy this exists, guys, gals and enbies

For all of its liberalism, CTH is the most based community. Even if it was "funny" in a way that we predicted the sub would be banned with TD, I missed it so fucking much. Dankleft is far too boomerish, Completeanarchy and fullcommunism too sectarian, GenZedong and GenZarnarchist too small and so on. I can only dream of chapo.chat reaching 100k+ again.

I seriously felt like the dude from Hurt Locker walking around the grocery store looking for a sub with some fuck you energy. So happy this space exists. Thanks to the comrades who put this together.

Yo también. After I did not succeed at being interim presidente por Venezuela, El Chapo Trap Casa was one of the only places I found healing.

Any time a meme with me would be posted, I would say to myself “Juan, people know you. Your image might be one of humor, but the people know you.”

It was healing. I do not need such posts now. I have had more than a year of CBT therapy since then and I am happy to simply -como se dice- “vibe”.

I am not sure what you mean? I was very excited to be able to register my full name (first and last) on this website, “chapo.chat” when it launched.

It'd be really funny if it were actually Guaido. Like imagine if he were just that torn up about his failure and everyone laughing at him, that he turned to chapo as a source of comfort

My favorite thing about Guaido is Trump comparing him to Beto and also the time Guaido said he was more left wing than AOC which might even be true.

Señor Beto es muy guapo. That compliment from Mr. Trump was the bright spot of an otherwise very upsetting week.

My close friend and advisor Stalin Gonzales has once again failed to achieve any concessions, despite the very fair ask for us to control the board of directors for Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA).

That was yet another moment showing me my own failures and inadequacies. Being compared to such a bright star of your political system helped me through that dark time.

I know you view it as humor, but I am under house arrest and have very many hours of free time. Mi esposa Fabiana believes me to be on important meetings at many hours. I cannot face her with the truth.

Some may not respect me now, but I am a determined man and will someday earn the adoration she has for me. This community has always shown me the kindness I cannot have elsewhere.

I briefly hung out in r/latestagecapitalism. there are some chapo refugees there it seems but holy shit it's full of libs. and not just the chapos i'm talking about. i guess it's a good place to educate some anti-capitalist curious types

Yeah, I don't know if it's just because most of us moved on once the main sub was shuttered but /r/latestagecapitalism and even larger subs more amenable to left critique like /r/me_irl took a major lib turn. They don't get every post but there must be a few CTR types keeping one eye on things, certain comments will get dogpiled and pro forma "most progressive platform in dem history" copypasted.

Yeah, well, the problem is that most of them only dislike capitalism if it's "late stage". Its only logical that there are so many libs.

I know that this post is about reddit being bad, which, yeah duh. But I just spent 10 minutes on twitter and it feels like my brain is melting through my ears and now I'm back here.

I made a new username to post here, but yeah I'm glad this place got created. The old sub was one of the only decent spots on Reddit and when it got banned I was left with a handful of subs for specific interests I had. Tried dankleft, found it to be overmemed and less fun discussion/shitposting/struggle sessions than were commonly found on the old CTH. Thankyou to all those who put this place together.

Naw I just chose a new nickname because I didn't want any drama to follow me. I like alliteration, grouse are cool birds, and I'm a grumpy jaded asshole in his mid 30s.

Edit: "UnpleasantPheasant" was my next choice, lol

Exile has been far more depressing to me than I anticipated. When it happened, I had a general sort of RATM energy that we, in defeat, were nevertheless victorious. But then weeks past and I realised I was homeless, devoid of contact with my kin. And it occurred to me how sinister the whole experience was - this is how the machine kills its threats; this is how they keep us down without firing a bullet - I had gone a month without talking or thinking about politics. And now we're here again. It's good to be home.
