It's gross. Stop doing it. Whether they're organizing, running for office, elected, overthrowing a county, ect talk about that. Why is it that posts about leftist men aren't swarmed with the horniest fucks hiding behind irony or just outright being creeps? Respect the fems doing work too. They don't want to log on and see your lonely ass talking about their feet, flushed reacting, or however you choose to express your creepiness.

Can't think of anything else to post? Go away.

Edit:

"But somebody lusted over a man"

Okay, report that. Comment on that. Don't comment on a post about the misogyny fems have to deal with on a daily basis and say "what about the men." Like I said in another comment: should men be creeped on in the comments? No. Is it a widespread problem for men? No. Do men start at a disadvantage due to their gender? No.

Agreed. Also maybe just be less horny in general. I'm not too big on being on a website with teens being openly horny or one where adults are being openly horny when we know there's also underage people here. Like, it's kind of uncomfortable to scroll through.

I'm for banning all unsolicited horny posting about women and queers, but leaving horny posting about men in place unless it's specifically rejected.

Horny posting about men is part of what makes this space inclusive for gay and bi men, and it's an important part of the site culture.

Yes, I am suggesting mandatory homosexuality for men. Yes I am serious.

There's also the important distinction to note that hornyposting about men doesn't have the same connotations here or anywhere else on the internet as it does for women. Hornyposting about men outside of spaces specifically intended for it is done tongue-in-cheek, a manner that even people who aren't attracted to men can partake in as part of goofing around. Compared to women, who have to deal with objectifying sexualization and harassment by men at veritably every corner, thirsting over men whether serious or not lacks the power to distress and intimidate said men because it doesn't play into the patriarchal power dynamics of our society; in fact men are more likely to regard it favorably because they exist on the opposite end of the attention spectrum from women. So while objectifying-sexualizing anyone is bad, there's context to consider about why we have to clamp down on it when targeted at women in order to create a safe environment for them here.

Everything you said is true but I do think horny posting about men could stand to have a bit of reigning in too sometimes. It can go a bit overboard around here.

Jesus christ y'all. Op is talking about how its ridiculous that people do the weird sexualization thing with socialist women, and a good chunk of the comments are 'But we do it for men toooo(mostly just historical figures thoughhhh)!' Get the Reddit brain shit outta here.

Maybe take that as a sign that some self reflection is needed? Come on. I get this place is for jokes and such, but leave the weird sex shit in your pants

kind of excessively for the men as an explicit repudiation of heterosexual norms

Most likely yes, but that's not really the point here, is it? This post wasn't aimed at the sort who sexualize (almost exclusively long dead) men, it was aimed at dudes being excessively sexual towards women, particularly in the context of socialist women actively achieving things being sexualized on here.

        Also:

I don't totally disagree with you, but I am on here a bit too much, and have noticed more than a fair few people toing the line of creepiness. Also, as someone else noted, not entirely comfortable with the weird sex pest stuff on a site that has quite a lot of teens.

Entirely agreed. It's not even a debate or anything to disagree on in any way. As others have said, the whole volcel police or anti-horny bits in various space exist for a reason. As much as in some cases (in adult spaces) I think it can be nice if done healthily and allow people to express sexuality/horniness with other nice people, it can also be extremely unhealthy and weird. Specific privates groups, discords/etc can be nice (if well moderated), but hexbear is not made for this.

Maybe I'm a bit extreme, but honestly I don't fucking care if we simply ban any and all horny-posting (or have strong automatic response/moderation), even ""ironic"" horny-posting. I'm honestly annoyed that we carried over a few of the really weird/gross "horny" emotes from the discord. I don't care if it's ironic or not, seeing an emote of a flushed sweaty face with a tongue sticking out is literally just hentai/ahegao shit, and I fucking hate it. Don't normalize this shit. Irony and parody require clarity of purpose and target, yadayadayada.

It's possible to be both horny, and not misogynist about it.

The specific behavior described here is annoying, obnoxious and should be discouraged. I'm seeing talk about "banning horny" (Whatever that means) tho, which I think is an overreaction personally, much less how that would even work.

Sex is fun/funny and can be talked/joked about in a healthy way, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater and get full-on Puritanical about it.

    THANK YOU :volcel-police:

Also, though, this isn't just fems, like, i'm sure feminine-aligned people of all types get a lot of shit, but women at large (whether they're feminine or not) and practically all non-passing afab people get the same objectification. Opting out of femininity has not diminished the creepy comments and harassment i get. Whenever this type of thing comes up, i feel the need to point out that woman =/= fem, and both catagories (plus a lot of afab people who are neither) experience misogyny and objectification.

That’s interesting and I hadn’t considered that perspective all that much. Thanks for sharing.
