Can I say something about the TLOU2 controversy? All these insufferable gamer nerds got so pissed at Abby for killing Joel and hurting Ellie that a huge number sent death threats to Abby's VA. In all the talk I've seen of this, I didn't see anybody mention that Laura Bailey (Abby's VA) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie's VA) ARE CLOSE FRIENDS WHO PLAY/LIVESTREAM PROFESSIONAL FUCKING DND TOGETHER EVERY THURSDAY. Like how tf does a person get so fucking disconnected from reality it seems like a good idea to threaten Laura over a character she played hurting a character her friend played? And the best part? Troy Baker - the VA for Joel - was the best man in Laura's wedding. They're literally all incredibly close friends and these delusional morons think they're somehow defending Troy's and Ashley's characters

Counterpoint: It's a great opportunity to tell gamers about all kinds of fucked up CIA shit.

That demographic skews pretty young. We totally have time to get to them before they ossify into permanent reactionaries.

Hell, I was kinda a reactionary in HS (and I supported Bernie at the same time) as I just repeated what I heard online. College is when I changed as I met more people and didn't have as much time to game.

The worst it will do is just make a bunch of gamers spam anti communist stuff they heard in the game for like a year.

But did you know Russian planes bombed a Highway with fleeing soldiers and civilians in a Middle Eastern Country? It was called "The Highway of Death"!!!

Can you believe it?! The Russians were the bad guys all along... thank god the CIA Operative is on our side!

So tons of rural folks have been displaced resulting in some frightening anecdotes. I saw my first MAGA mask today, and overheard someone expressing support for rounding up leftists.

These people are not a fucking joke and while most of them are frail old boomers or edgy teenagers the fact that this is a thing that is becoming mainstreamed should alarm everyone.

Tool up and find comrades. Time is running out for us.

This isn't meant as a generalization we have many comrades out in the mountains and woods, this is meant as a reminder that wherever you are, you are not far from the fash.

Eh, "Communism bad." has been the majority American opinion since forever, that hasn't really changed.

As much as things suck, we're not back at 50s Red Scare levels yet.

It's already happening. Even as we speak, my secret network of crypto-marxist spies have infiltrated top gaming companies and have begun replacing straight white male protagonists with minorities, and have even created women without enormous tiddies. Some have even reportedly snuck in the legendary "politics" into the narrative structure of famously apolitical games.

It is too late to stop the gamercide, we have already won

I legit wish Patton would have swayed the US and UK to attack the Soviets in '45 with Operation Unthinkable. They would have gotten swept to the Atlantic coast and the world would be a better place probably.

As dumb as this game's gonna be, I don't think chuds are gonna get nearly as many converts as they think they are. Odds are the vast majority of people playing aren't gonna care that much and just want to game/already agreed with the Red Scare shit before they even started playing.

A fuckin' Call of Duty game, or any video game for that matter, is not gonna be the deciding factor on if communism wins or not lol.
