"Dear Reddit, why don't my kids call me anymore?"

I was thinking low thousands for an NFT. At least the shoes would make the kids happier and he wouldnt have to actually explain what they are.

Plus you can actually wear the shoes, they are comfortable and protect your feet. They have function. An internet token is literally an ethereal speculation device, ones and zeros on a computer screen that can't feed you or keep you warm.

I haven't dared post anything there because of what I learned from Reddit culture and its /r/gaming :so-true: community in particular, but knowing that the mods here aren't down with that makes me feel more comfortable considering that in the future.

That's the best part, people here are already far more critical than any mainstream game sites, and most of the discourse around gaming here is just people talking about cool indie/niche rpg/strategy/sim shit and complaining about HOI being too reactionary.

Myself I try to keep tabs on the intersection of labor and gaming and post as many updates on that as possible.

Maybe I'd be better off going there if I criticize something in a video game or criticize the industry's corporations and oligarchical leadership.

In my experience, being too fast and loose with treats criticism even on Hexbear can get some fans of it to take it personally, then they start calling me names and holding weird grudges against me for what I said for days or even weeks alter.

Sitting in the corner of an empty bar, crying into a santa hat so the staff can’t see the tears, googling “hhwo to make nft of pciture samsung galax9y”. There’s pee running down my leg again but I can’t go to the bathroom. Goddammit I need to see my son again. I need him to respect me. If I can just… just turn his photos into NFTS and sell them on the internet. I can give him one as a Christmas gift (it’s still Christmas) and sell the rest. Get rich so fast. Tell him I got a job as an investor which is much more important than his mother’s new “doctor” boyfriend.

Msis my Boy Yyach t Club - series 1

I'm only an apprentice carpenter of heaven so my lathe work is sloppy, but we're going to reach brave new tiers of deadbeat dad with NFTs. Next Christmas, there will be at least one kind of NFT for sale at gas stations. There will be at least one cryptobro-turned-familycourtcrusader who brags about buying one while drunk-driving home on Christmas Eve because his ex can't turn him away if he shows up dressed like santa with gifts. He will be arrested for screaming "this is worth $300k, your mom's new boyfriend only bought you a car" while holding a simulacrum of a fidget spinner.

This is the golden era of Guy.

So much of it will be driven by fear of missing out and survivorship bias.

That's why NFTs will naturally migrate to gas stations. They'll be the new form of lottery tickets. Buy a pseudo-url of a random JPG and maybe it will be worth a fortune for some reason. Little old ladies pawning their food stamps outside so they can get one more Danger Donkey Series IV that they don't know how to access.

A pair of Nike Air Jordans have more intrinsic value than an NFT. You could trade the shoes for cash or barter them, the best you can get out of an NFT is crypto money that's useless if you can't go through the convoluted process of cashing out.

lol chief in aint 2014 anymore, you dont have to buy a brick of heroin to get your money out of crypto anymore

you literally just go to an exchange.

lol i have never owned a single fraction of crypto in my life but it would do everyone here good to realize that they have zero idea and zero concept of what they are talking about, at all.

The only time doing a prank gift with a box of something and not have it in it is when you actually secretly have the real thing hiding and give it to them after the "joke." And even then it's a dick move most of the time, especially with kids who can get very emotional about it.

I remember getting savings bonds as gifts when I was a kid, and I could appreciate those. If I got an ugly ape picture, I'd be confused at best. You have to explain so much about NFTs to make sense, and even then, it doesn't.
