a strange sound ... immediately before the crash.

Like some high-powered system breaking or slipping out of place leading to catastrophic failure? It was probably part of the engine, power-plant, or propulsion system failing.

The sound before the crash: “oh shid oh fuck this doesn’t fly like in Battlefield 3 at all”

In all seriousness I give a 99% chance this is just bullshit that the media will regurgitate to save face for the military fucking up

Lol that makes this so much weirder honestly.

I don’t see any other results from a quick search other than a few articles speculating about China participating in causing Havana syndrome which is also funny. Both the news writing about Havana syndrome and a 16 follower account writing this are almost indistinguishable levels of “quality” and importance imo

probably he did know how to fly a plane. Pretty sure they don't just put some guy in a fighter jet and tell them to have fun with it

Realistically I just assume the F35 had a defect or something but who knows. Boeing kept crashing shit repeatedly why not the military too lol

Not sure offhand. There’s been a lot of plane crash articles over the past few years (not only the US) and most of them blend together in my mind. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened though.

Malaysia Flight 370 disappeared in early 2014, although I am fairly certain there was a more recent one.

Why is there no evidence of China's illegal dumping of raw mayonnaise into international waters? It's because there is a cover-up, of course!

What would be the point of revealing the existence of a secret super weapon just to push a single plane into the ocean and then do nothing more?

Absolute horseshit. If the US is good at anything it is building new ways to mutilate and murder. If acoustic weapons were feasable we'd have some press conference explaining why boiling Cubans/Iranians/Venezualans brains in their skulls with the navy's shiny new freedom ray is actually a good thing.

The US already has sonic weapons. The way they work also doesn't fit at all either for this story, or Havana syndrome. The idea that the Chinese navy could drive a sonic weapon close enough to an American aircraft carrier to crash a plane is patently ridiculous.

Not that this would stop the US but aren't weapons designed to permanently make someone deaf or blind a war crime?

Which is why there are funny rules about lasers or something

      • Circra [he/him]

They'd probably state the intended purpose is something else, it just coincidentally causes blindness or deafness. Bit like with white phosperous.

This is why shooting lasers at cops is perfectly fine. The intent is not to blind them, it's actually to burn them alive

Most of the athletes quoted in that story are such fucking babies or just straight up lying.

One complains of not being able to get out of bed and wasting away to the point where their bones stick out because they're so weak, surviving only on a handful of pasta per day. Wow, super harsh for China not to provide food right? Actually she admits they do provide food but she "can't eat it". Why? Doesn't say, just doesn't like it I guess, so instead she's going to lie in bed and tweet about starving to death.

Others talk about the horrifying indignity and trauma of being taken in the middle of the night and isolated. Wow, sounds scary, snatched at 3am and taken to who knows where right? No, actually they say they rode in an ambulance after testing positive for Covid to a nice hotel for isolating Athletes with positive tests.

Any detail or reasoning on why the hotels are "inadequate" or they "can't eat the food"? Nope, just vague whining.

The article concludes by complaining about the weather, particularly that it's cold at the winter Olympics.
